Crazy...yes, WAY tooo much Food Network or Gastronomy classes! LOL! And why both Hermione and Severus would choose to advertantly leave their innate talents behind for culinary pursuits when neither had shown an inkling of it before is kinda weird but it's part of the prompt so I'll go along with it...Whew! Cool story!

Warning! Story hazardous to dieting! *grin* Loved the history lesson about saffron. As part of the SCA, we use Apicius as a primary source for research into cookery. ^_^

There should be a warning about not reading this story while on a strict diet! I'm now craving paella and maybe some saffron ice cream too.

I like your Severus, I love this idea of a career for Hermione, but I'd REALLY love to visit the restaurant.

It was also pretty cool to find Apicius in this. His food has turned up occasionally at feasts I've attended with the Society for Creative Anachronism.
