I am an avid Harry Potter fan. I am currently discovering the pleasure of writing my own fan fiction.
I am pragmatic person who yearns to be an optimist, but I know better. I think maybe I am related to Severus.
Northwest born I now live in the midwest.

Interesting. She's not letting him discourage her from making sure the dead are honoured properly. ^_^

Hermione's finally broken through to Severus. It looks like there really is some light for him at the end of the tunnel, and that's a good sign.
Response from irishredlass (Author of Letting Go)
Yes, there is light. Thank you

That was awesome. I love how she didn't let him cow her! :) also like that she's going to ensure all the traditions are followed. I'm wondering if he's going to "catch" her doing something...
Response from irishredlass (Author of Letting Go)
She needs to stand strong in his malestorm of grief.

very good chapter. i like how hermione is very careful in using funeral traditions in helping him start to heal. she has certainly chosen an apt profession.
Response from irishredlass (Author of Letting Go)
Thank you for the thoughtful review. Yes, Hermione is wise in using the traditions to gently guide him. He is much like an injured wild animal.

This chapter was absolutely heartbreaking. Since this is an "angst" story, I suppose I should tell you "well done." :)
Response from irishredlass (Author of Letting Go)

The image of Ginny's memorial (the one on her birthday) had me all weepy. Nicely done.

I read this story when it was posted for the exchange and it made me cry so hard I could barely see the computer screen. I love it just as much the second time around!

oh Severus' grief is almost palatable... how utterly horrifying for him that he's finally letting it all out. And that's why we have such rituals in place - so we can grieve....
Response from irishredlass (Author of Letting Go)
I am just thrilled about the wonderful response to this chapter. Thank you for your lovely review.

A heartbreakingly beautiful chapter. Severus' grief is vivid and realistic and makes me want to join Hermione in comforting him. He'd given up so much - even intending to give up his own life - that the unfairness of it all makes his grief even more pervasive.
Response from irishredlass (Author of Letting Go)
You have no idea how you make my heart sing with your words. Thank you so much. You have expressed exactly what I was trying to capture and make the reader feel.

Perfect. He's hit rock bottom, Snape is run through the gyros grinder. Poor man, he's had a tough day with guilt, shame, remorse, and bargaining. Hermione is handling him very very well.
Response from irishredlass (Author of Letting Go)
LOL Gyros Grinder... does that mean we roast him on a spit next?

The man has been in shock for the last six years. He's almost psychotic with grief. It's fine as long as he knows he can come home to them, but now that he doesn't have them, how is he ever going to cope? I'm not even thinking about him trying to run Hogwarts yet - he can't in his state. He can't even move without Hermione cajoling him and whatnot. How is he ever going to function again? Wow.
Response from irishredlass (Author of Letting Go)
Oh thank you so much for the wonderful review! You have the picture of it perfectly. He is incoherant with his grief that has been slapped in his face and he does not know how to face it, how to deal with it, how to move on for it.Don't worry Hermione will be there for him in her bossy know-it-all way.

What must she think? I'm pretty sure she sees a side she maybe never dreamt of -- a man who loved his family desperately. Awesome chapter.
Response from irishredlass (Author of Letting Go)
Yes, I am sure it is a different perspective for her. Thank you!

Response from irishredlass (Author of Letting Go)
Thank you so much! As I said of everything I have written this is the one of am most proud of.
I am loving this. But that thing about the recipe is totally true, as taught to me by my chef other half. He's gotten a kick out of me following things exactly and getting mad when it doesn't turn out like it should.
That last chapter was awsome! I felt so bad for him .
