I am so glad to see a portrayal of Salazar as an equal to the other Founders - and as a man who loved and was loved, who held a deep concern for his world - born out of the hope for protection rather than hatred.  This was an achingly poignant chapter - brought tears to my eyes.   

This chapter hit me a little bit. I went to my great-aunt's funeral yesterday, and it reminds me of what I felt. Bittersweet. Severus at least has a Hermione here. What does that Hermione have when she returns, I wonder?

This story keeps getting better. I have no idea what's going to happen regarding the multiple universes. Also, for some reason, I almost feel that Severus is cheating on "our" Hermione. The ship that we all follow is "our" SS/HG, so it feels weird that Severus is with another Hermione. But it seems like this Hermione is good for him. He needs someone to comfort him. I think your interpretation of wands is awesome. I also LOVE Dumbledore-bashing and the fact that Other Dumbledore was banished for crimes against humanity. I'll admit that I "worshipped" Dumbledore in canon before I came to fanfiction after the release of the 7th book. The only reason I trusted Severus was because Dumbledore did. But having other writers point out how flawed Dumbledore was and how cruel he was to Snape really made me hate him. Sure, he loved Harry, but his "greater good" obsession, even after he abandoned Grindelwald seemed to stick with him and caused him to treat people like chess pieces. Sorry about the rant. I'm really looking forward to more. I love the fact that your story is complete and that the updates come quickly and regularly. I wish everyone would do that. :)

Ah, yes, old Dumbles. A bastard in any universe.

I'd tend to agree with Cottontail - perhaps, in the end, Severus, rather than passing thru the Veil, is finally freed into a differnt reality where he can be happy with this Hermione - who seems to suit him so well.  This seems like the RIGHT Hermione for him to be with.

Interesting interpretation of canon. Can't wait for the next chapter. ^_^

Oooh! The Baron is worried? I'd be worried too if I felt something and didn't know what it was, especially if my only job (and major goal) in life is to protect the castle and its inhabitants. ^_^

I'm really enjoying this story, so unique and different.  I wonder if after all is said and done she finds a way back home and takes him with her...  :-)

reading this only reminds me how angry i was with Dumbledore for loading all this onto Severus with no one he could turn to for help or support. It's not humanly possibly to carry all that responsibility which is why i'm so glad that he's tempted to trust this Hermione. and I like that she sees the doe inside him and knows with absolute certainty that Severus is a good man.

Excellent, I am truly enjoying this!  Really, really intriguing, and beautifully written, too.

When wandless-hallowing-harmony Hermione got pulled through into the canon universe, did all of the other Hermione's in all of the canon universes get displaced, too?  Or were the rest of them unaffected, leaving two Hermiones in the canon universe?  (I suppose I'm thinking of the Gwendolyns in Charmed Life, though both Hermiones seem far more savory than Gwendolyn.)

I find it a true comfort that at last there is SOMEONE he can actually share his terrible isolation and lonliness with.  One wonders how he kept his sanity that last terrible year...

It seems Severus has definitely fallen for AU Hermione. You could tell by the way he fell asleep entwined around her. But AU Hermione is so confused by everything. And she must be slightly older than Hermione, because she's said she's a teacher and is not used to seeing Neville and Ginny in schoolclothes. So if she would be the exact same age, she'd be a student too, so I wonder why the jog in time along with the shift?

I am at your mercy.... truly...

I like how subtly different this Hermione is, strong but not as hard as a girl who's been involved in the undercurrents of an impending war all her schooldays. I like how Severus responds to her as an adult as well and appreciates she's not the same person as the girl he taught.

How, indeed! So incredibly intriguing! Not only are there infinite universes, but infinite plots and story lines to explore! I wonder which path you will choose, and I can't help but wonder what would've been had Snape crossed into her world, instead of vice versa? How would he interact with a Professor Evans (and here I may be incorrectly assuming her identity as Lily) that has no memory of him? Or would she? Perhaps in that world, Snape had died young? Perhaps he is survived only by an orphan son? Oh, the possibilities are endless!

He's falling for her! But what happens when Severus' world's Hermione comes back again?
