The Tenant of Lyonesse Hall is on a temporary hiatus. Look for an update in winter 2012!

So thats where Hermione gets her power.A very nice twist on canon.
Such poignant vignettes, and so much truth avowed and betrayed by the tingling of the toes! So Salazar left but Godric stayed, even if he wasn't her father. But the poor Grey Lady was perhaps not surprised by her tingling toes. And dear little Hermione has a bit of Slytherin and Ravenclaw in her ... but she went with the House of the Man Who Stayed. Very, very nicely done!

Do y'know, Sub, I didn't even think of that until you pointed it out here. Sometimes stories just know what they're doing. So very glad you enjoyed it.
Hermione - Helena - Rowena. Wow. It would be horifying to know that people lie. Especially since everyone lies all the time. It's a curse, but a captivating one.

This is good. A different approach to how Hermione got her magic.

Thanks so much! I can't help but think that Muggle-born is a loose phrase ... exclusively Muggle-born, going back for centuries? ... seems unlikely. At least in my world. *g* Glad you enjoyed it!
Hermione, the Heir of Ravenclaw? The Malfoys would surely faint!

Most assuredly. ;) Thanks for reading!
I love the glimpse into the Founder's stories! And who knows who might be lurking in Hermione's family tree . . .

Ooooh, very interesting. How on earth was Hermione related to Rowena, though? Helena had no children!

What's fanfiction for if we can't twist the canon for our own purposes? :-) Thanks for reading!
Hmm. Wonder if Hermione will remember that when she's older? :)

And yet, she didn't get sorted into Ravenclaw (or Slytherin for that matter)
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Of Truth and Tingling)
Who knows? Maybe the Hermione with this background did... ;)
Aha... and there's a bit of pedigree in the muggle family after all. Fun way to turn canon on its ear.

Wonderful and melancholy, just the way I like them.

So that's why the Sorting Hat considered Ravenclaw for our gal Hermione, eh? I love the vignette approach used here, and the Founders' stories that are so clearly told as you read between the lines. (Ah, Helena! Terribly sad.)
Response from lady_rhian (Author of Of Truth and Tingling)
So glad you enjoyed it, dear!
Nice tying of Hermione back to Ravenclaw, by the way.

where in the world did you find this; how could one make this up.It is righout wonderful how you used the prompt.ok. it sometimes is a course to know when a lie was told.but the funniest line was the last, she doesn't miss her cheating husband. and her daughter has it also.runs in the female line, doesn't it.men don't seem to have the sensability.A very intersting family legend. Thanks for sharing.

I like the way you've linked Hermione back through to the founders. Cleverly done.
