This is one of my favorites! Neat story line and love SS/MM

Thanks! I love this pairing, too. I appreciate the comment.
The touching of the scars is their ritual to acknowledge what they have endured, though whether Minerva is always thankful for their survival, Severus does not enquire. His own thoughts on that topic vary. I love this line. Sums up so much -- the whole thing, really, in two sentences. Very nice!

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. I really enjoy speculating about Severus's post-DH life (because he doesn't die; that goes without saying). Thanks for taking time to read and comment.~~Kelly
You know, I didn't ever expect to say this, of this pairing, especially in this situation, as you've put them, but that was quite beautiful - the two of the allowing intimacy between them, when they'd both rather be closed, angry and holding onto their pain.

I'm glad you feel the pairing works this way. I do think that they both find intimacy difficult. Thanks for reading!
If this relationship works for them, why not. I think the relationship you portray for them is a very realistic one. I hope they have many good nights together. Great story. Thanks.

Thanks! I'm glad you find it realistic; I love this pairing, but it can be a challenge to make it believable. Thanks for taking the time to review.~~Kelly
Even though I've read and reviewed this gem on another site, it is so deserving of further praise. You give such honor to these two people - you allow them their flaws and bruises, their beauty and their ugliness - all the things that make them so deeply human. I think that's one of those things I most admire in your work - you lead us into the world of magic - allow us to savor it's mystery - and then let us see that even wizards and witches are profoundly and truly like all the rest of us in matters of the heart and soul. Of all your wonderful works, this is truly one of my favorites. Brava, dear !!

Thank you, Moira! You write the nicest reviews. I see Minerva/Severus as inevitably ansgty, but I always want to give them a little bit a solace, too.
I'm sure I sound like a broken record, but I don't find too many people who write this pair well. You are the exception, and in such a fantastic way, now and always. There are so many aspects of their relationship to like. I love that she chooses to remain silent and that he has never asked it of her. And the way they communicate without speaking is wonderful. I think the fact that she stays only on occasion makes those times all the more special. Wonderful, wonderful stuff.

Thank you! i think a lot of their relationship would be based on things unsaid. They're never going to have a happily-ever-after, but I like to think there might be some tenderness for them. Thanks for reading.
