Reviews for Bad Blood
Horribly tragic. Just heartbreaking, but very well written.
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
Thanks for reading and for the lovely comments.
If Narcissa ever finds out, this will cost Lucius even more.
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
Yes, and he will deserve it, although I don't think he would see it that way. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
WOW....This just reeks of SEQUEL..I could picture Hermione coming back. Stunning the Master of the Manor and with the help of his wife Draco would live.thank you for an awesome short.
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
Well, he died in the end, so I'd have to do an alternate ending, LOL. Or a time turner fic. Or a potion that brings people back from the dead. Man, you've really stirred up the possibilities :)
My favourite little moment in this scene is Hermione speaking to an unconscious Draco... it's just perfect, really, the things that she's telling him. Lucius' repentance? I don't know that we ever really see it in canon, although we do see it in ways from both Narcissa and Draco. Which makes this so terrible, knowing that Narcissa would lie to Voldemort's face for Draco, but Lucius won't even allow his blood to be mixed with Hermione's. Well done.
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
I always felt there was more redemptive quality to Draco and Narcissa, than Lucius. Thanks for reviewing!
How terrible. An excellent take on the prompt. Well done!
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
It is terrible. Thanks so much!
How sad is a man who would sacrifice his own child on the altar of blood prejudice. *Shudders*
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
Yes, I think shuddering is quite appropriate.
oh yes, this grude costed the family horribly dearly.she was willing to help, but instead of being allowed to finish the good deed she had to listen to such filth and watch the boy die.oh vanity where do we end, when leaded by you... *pathos off*Thanks for sharing!nice , short, good idea, well told.
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
Thanks so much for your review. It really is horrible the lengths people will go to for their misguided beliefs sometimes.
OMG, I so don't want this to ever be true. It's a reason for rejection so stupid and petty, I'd call it silly. But it's too profound and desperate to use such a playful word. Horrible scenario, but excellent execution, dear author.
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
Thanks so much for your kind words. It is a bad situation all around, isn't it?
Some people will never get a clue. This was very well done.
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
You've got that right. Thanks for your review!
Oh, ouch! Blimey that was harsh. I actually winced at his words to Narcissa. Such pain and such hate... What a price to pay?! This will linger over them for the rest of their lives.
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
Maybe I will have the notion someday write a sequel where Narcissa finds out the truth. That could be brutal, and Lucius would deserve whatever he got. Thanks for the review!
Very powerful choice depicted, hatred winning over love. Sacrificing one's own child to it. The mindset of Supremecy in its most horrible best; true to canon's LM. Bravo, mystery writer - a very 'wonderfully' hard read to read! Loved it!
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
Thank you for your lovely review. I am glad that you liked it.
That's awful! But then, I suppose this is the same family that expected Draco to save them, even at the expence of his soul... Sad.
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
Yes, the Malfoys don't exactly have a great track record.
Oh, man. He would rather see Draco die than allow Hermione to help them. That's what it boils down to, and it's sickening. You made me feel Draco's illness and Hermione's hopelessness. Well done.
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
It is sickening, but I could certainly see it happening. I'm so glad this worked for you. Thanks for your review!
Oh, bugger! Bloody proud Malfoys!
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
Let's hope he's learned his lesson. I have my doubts.
Some people never truly change, do they? How sad.
Response from HBAR (Reviewer)
Well, he is very set in his ways. Don't have to worry about carrying that prejudice down through the Malfoy liine, huh? :(
He seemed to put Draco before anything in the final battle, but he couldn't do that here. I feel most sorry for Narcissa.
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
I suspect in battle he did what he had to do, split-second in the moment. Now that he's had a chance to think about it, he realizes where his priorities lie ... sadly.
Oh, that's cold....
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
Yeah, he isn't making very good choices, is he?
Lucius better hope his wife never finds out what really happened. He's going to find out what it's really like to be married to a Black sister if she does.
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
Oooh, now I sort of hope she does find out, just to see the sparks fly. If anyone could take him down a notch, it's Narcissa.
You have Lucius' arrogance down perfectly. What a fool. To let his only child die because a Muggle-born came up with the cure and it involves a single drop of her blood mixed with theirs. Very uncomfortable to read, very sad, but totally true to the canon Lucius. Great job.
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
What a lovely review. Thanks so much!
Lucius, why on earth would your pride outrank your son? Fool!
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
It's hard to deprogram after all those years of Pureblood supremacy, I suppose. Fool, indeed.
Bastard. Wow. I now want the sequel when Hermione tells Narcissa the truth and the latter cuts off Lucius' balls. With a knife.
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
Oooh, I want that sequel too. Hmmm ...
Oooh! This one was deliciously dark!
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
Yeah, but by my standards, just about anything without bunnies and rainbows seems dark, LOL. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Truly shocking, and very poignant. Well done!
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!
It's almost inconceivable a man would sacrifice his own son's life for the sake of his prejudice. This is heartwrenching for its sadness and Lucius' deception.Well done!
Response from HBAR (Author of Bad Blood)
I would agree. At this point, I don't even know that it is a conscious decision, but rather gut instinct to reject anything she offered. He sure doesn't seem to feel any guilt though. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
