I'm totally down with the Sorting Hat and its songs as a biased "memoir" of sorts. Very cool use of the sound file!

Thank you. I went looking for something taht would transliterate for me, but there was no such thing. When I found the sound generator, I was over the moon.
A most inventive take on the prompt! I do love a good Salazar story. Sadly, he and Rowena were so very right in predicting lingering prejudice against the house of Slytherin. How much pain and death could have been avoided had Godric shown a bit more tolerance back then.

I'd say his trait is political acuity, and the poor monster he installed to protect the students. With no one knowing it's true purpose, it was used for evil. Sniffle.
What a brilliant take on the prompt! And it flows into canon in such a unique way, too.I love it when stories make you question something - the hat itself admits that each of the Founders took part in the magic that animates it, yet it is so very biased. Huh.

If only this were not true. It's devastating how much harted can be attributed to the House of Gryffindor. A lot of animosity towards Slytherin stemmed from there and, frankly, there's no wonder Slytherin retaliated. One needs only remember the House Cup in Harry's first year. Blatant injustice.

We knew it was Godric's hat to start with, I always suspected him of undue influence over it.
