There's not much to say, really. I'm a thirty year-old mother of three, married for seven years, I live in the Southeastern US, I'm a newly graduated Registered Nurse, and I'm absolutely enthralled with Severus Snape. It was my love for Alan Rickman that inititally brought me to love the character of Snape so much, and I adore everything he (Alan Rickman) has ever done, stage or screen. I've been in the fandom for around three years now, and have loved every minute of it.

That was incredible!

Thank you so much!
I don't know quite what to say about it. It's like wood smoke drifting on the wind, a snake slithering to and fro, reality and fantasy blurring. It is subtle. I really liked it.
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Guilty Pleasures)
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Wow, such a strong play on reality and how Severus perceives it. That he knows his perception of reality is confusing him and doesn't want to do anything about it out for whatever reason makes this so chilling.Well done!
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Guilty Pleasures)
Thank you! I loved the idea that he seems to know (at least in part) that fantasy and reality are blurring... how much he knows is the question. :)
The contrast between his fantasy and his reality is so chilling. Which does he really want ? :)
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Guilty Pleasures)
Hmm... that's the question, isn't it? Thanks for the R&R!
Oh very nicely done. Bravo! And I loved the line "His black hair had been allowed to grow unchecked and now fell like a ribbon of oil between his shoulder blades." I liked the turn of phrase. Once a greasy git, now the term 'oil' is being used in an exotic, sexy way. Lovely dichotomy.
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Guilty Pleasures)
Thank you very much! I love taking him and turning him into an exotic, sexual being, instead of a greasy, asexual bastard. It's terrible fun!
Well done on creating such disturbing ambiguity. This is heartwrenching for both of them, when it is unclear what level of control Severus has over his dreams, whether they are welcome or not, and how he really feels for Hermione.
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Guilty Pleasures)
Thank you! That's exactly what I was going for... I'm glad it came across well. :)
Oh this is a delightfully naughty! I like how Severus fights the losing battle to stay with his living wife.
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Guilty Pleasures)
Thanks! He doesn't appear to be putting up much of a fight, does he?
This was powerful! And intriguing. And also, a little disturbing. However, it shows the strength of your writing that I shivered at the end. Well done!
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Guilty Pleasures)
Thank you so much! It was a bit disturbing to write, as well. I couldn't really decide for myself what was really going through his head... on the one hand I want to believe that the dreams scare him, and he wants to be with Hermione more than anything. On the other (more evil and naughty) hand, I feel that he knows exactly what is happening. He wants to have his cake and eat it too, so to speak. :) Thanks again!
Another fine example of why I love reading your drabble series. Aside from the subject matter, which I'll mention shortly, I'm always awed by how you work within the confines of the drabble format, yet it never sounds forced or truncated in order to meet the criteria. That in and of itself impresses the daylights out of me!On the subject itself, this is so disturbing as to be almost too difficult for me to read. There is such an ambiguity that you've placed here - is he willingly losing himself in this increasingly compelling fantasy world, or is his dementia forcing him there? Does he want to go back and keep it a secret, or is he so afraid of it, he's afraid to tell her about it? I could see both scenarios to be true, and both true at once! This is a real masterclass in drabble writing, Bullet, and the story itself is just so damn good, because, when the rubber meets the road, we love that fantasy with Severus. We all secretly want to be that exotic stranger, serviced by willing silent slaves doing our bidding. We are Severus, and that's the most disturbing thought of all.
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Guilty Pleasures)
I'm sorry it took me so long to respond, Teddy... you know how it is! :) What a great review... and I'm absolutely humbled by the praise! Thank you so much! It means the world to me, truly. It was a bit disturbing for me to write as well, as I love a HEA. There was originally a bit more to it, but I couldn't get it right, and it just seemed to keep ending itself where it did. So, I caved and let it do what it would. I love it when you said 'we all want to be that exotic stranger...' because in our deepest, darkest fantasies, it's true. Mine involves a certain dark-haired Slytherin... but I digress... ;)
I don't usually care for disturbing stories, and yet I found this to be fantastic. Maybe it is because I'm not yet sure what to think. Is he unhappy with his real life and by hiding this fantasy being deceitful, or is he having dreams that he can't control and is just confused and overwhelmed by them? Does he find himself unworthy of a happy normal life, so the drug induced, sex with no emotion, half-life seem like where he should be? Maybe I won't decide at all. It is fantastic as is.
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Guilty Pleasures)
Thank you so much! I'm thrilled that you're undecided, as that's exactly what I was going for. Even I can't decide somedays... it just depends on what kind of mood I'm in.
Oh, shit, that's terrible! Bad Severus, bad!
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Guilty Pleasures)
He does seem like the guilty party, doesn't he? The question is, does he really want this alternate reality/dream world, or is it something that he can't help? Is he truly afraid to tell Hermione, or is he, like you said, Bad!Severus? Thanks so much for reading!
Blimey. Disturbing, but very good.
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Guilty Pleasures)
Thank you so much! It was a bit disturbing to write, as well... for me it was the thought that it might not be a fantasy, but a nightmare that Severus simply doesn't recognize. I've always loved dystopian stories.. where things seem so good, but the horror and the 'wrongness' are waiting just under the surface...
Wow what a contrast between his dreams and reality. It was interesting how the shift took place as he woke up...
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Guilty Pleasures)
Thanks! That was an interesting dynamic to write as well. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
Disturbing, and yet, can`t help but feel sorry for Severus (and by extension, Hermione). Thank you.
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Guilty Pleasures)
You're very welcome, and thank you for reading! I share your feelings for Severus and Hermione... :(

Brilliant.

Shiver......
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Guilty Pleasures)
Indeed... thank you so much for reading!
The ambiguity in this story is what makes is so disturbing. Yet I sense a struggle within his soul about where he truly wants to be and where he finds himself... I just can figure out which is which. Very well done! Beth
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Guilty Pleasures)
Thanks so much Beth! You know... I don't think I truly know where he wants to be either. What that says about me, I have no clue... hehe.
