Forty-something, married, Professional Colorist seeks intelligent, scrawny man with misunderstood past. Tattoos a plus, snarkiness a must.
My interests include: Eating, breathing, napping, swearing and chocolate; as well as long, romantic walks from the refrigerator to my computer.
Needed skills must include: Foot massage, adoration, feeding my kids for me and ironing my husband's work clothes, along with sneering, looming, staring at me with desire, and reading whatever I hand you into my ear in a sultry tone.

So very sad, my heart breaks for them.
I think this is one of the saddest things I've ever read.It is also brilliant. Well done!

Thank you!
This is a great insight into the 'haves' and 'have-nots', where simple acts of kindness can make all the difference.

Thank you, I'm glad you thought so. :-)
Oh, my. So sad, and yet so lovely. Well done!

Thank you very much.
Oh. My. You... wow. Such a delicate subject, one rarely addressed with such a deft hand. Thank goodness Dumbledore saw Argus - but poor Mingionette and Valerian, and the rest of the nameless, homeless squibs :(

I'm glad you were touched. Thank you.
The last line is really what makes the story, IMO. Very poetically written. Brilliant!

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!
A very emotive read and an excellent interpretation of 'unseen'. Thank you.

I'm glad you liked it.
Wow. There's some food for thought. Nice use of the prompt.

Thank you!
Very poignant! People tend to forget that even the homeless had hopes and dreams and good lives at one time. Argus, it seems, has never forgotten.
Response from Aurette (Author of Shame)
Indeed. Thank you!
Wow, that is bleak. Great interpretation of the prompt.

Thank you!
I feel this is heartwrenching. Yet, I don't comprehend. *reads again*Oh. It's very powerful once one can correctly place who "he" is in ths story. I missed that my fisrt time. Finally, we know what life of a squib looks like and it brings new appreciation for Argus' attitude. Amazingly humane.
Response from Aurette (Author of Shame)
oof. I wish I'd written it so you could have understood it the first time. Ah well. I'm glad you liked it the second time through.
Response from nata (Reviewer)
No, no, no. Don't let a sloppy reader deter you. I liked it so much, I voted for it.
Response from Aurette (Author of Shame)
Ohhh! I had some issues with the verbal attributions being unclear in the first draft, so I assumed I hadn't quite ironed them out. I leapt to my preordained conclusion there.
We really do feel Argus' shame; the emotion of this piece just washes over you as you read. The details here - a wrapper caught on the breeze - just fantastic. Very well done.

Thank you!
Wonderful use of the prompt nd the meaning of unseen. Fascinating view of canon and very well told.

How sad for the other squibs ... Nicely written.

Thank you!
Lovely, poignant, a la Les Miserables - so very striking - 'And there it is. The thing that separates him from the rest of them.' Love your capturing of atmosphere and location and description- everything - beautiful!
Very provocative.
This is... well... Yes, well. The hollow emptiness of being abandoned and forgotten is just palpable here. As is the guilt of making it out, being repaid in pink things to a woman who 'used to be' something worth noticing. Beautiful (and terrible) and powerful.
Well done.
Wow... that makes an excellent point. Well done.
Response from Aurette (Author of Shame)
Thank you!
So bitter-sweet. What a great use of the prompt - unseen, not invisible.
