A million thanks to my dear friend, the author Almanera, for the beautiful banners she created for my stories. She is an amazing artist, and an extremely talented writer. Her chronicle of the Black family, The Darkness in My Veins, is one of the best fics I've ever read.
Reviews for The Redemption
So dark and twisted. Poor Lily didn't stand a chance.
Response from Tarpeia (Author of The Redemption)
Thank you for reading and for the review! :) Severus's victory isn't as complete as he believes... There is a sequel in progress--the Sleep of the Soul--but I've only posted it on fanfiction net. Thank you again.
Again, amazing.
Response from Tarpeia (Author of The Redemption)
Thank you! :)

Thank you! :)
wow. this was such a haunting tale. really stays with you. i must say, you've really given me a taste for severus/lily now.
Response from Tarpeia (Author of The Redemption)
Yay, thank you! That's one of the most beautiful compliments I've received! I was thinking of writing a new severus/lily darkfic, but this time, it would be a one-shot. Meanwhile, I'm sure you would love "His Heart's Desire" by cmwinters, which is my favorite fic (with the same pairing). :)
Response from Tarpeia (Author of The Redemption)
I just wanted to let you know a prequel to The Redemption has been uploaded: The Spinner's Ends. This one is a rather dark one-shot...
Wow what an amazing ride. I can't help think that the dream was real, and her memory was tampered with again. The last bit, Evil laughter resounded through the night, spreading to every corner of the manor. Somewhere in the dungeon, a green-eyed house-elf expired in anguish. really shocked me. It's as if Lily or a part of Lily died. This is a Potterverse I'd rather die and escape than live in. But the tale was so intriguing as much as it was dark. Good job.
Response from Tarpeia (Author of The Redemption)
Thank you very much! Your feeling is entirely correct: the last two sentences show another vision he sent to her through Legilimency while she was asleep. The evil laughter is an expression of triumph, for he has finaly managed to make her love him. Now that she has given up, she is not really the same person any more. And indeed, Dobby's death is symbolic: it is her last hope to escape that died with him...
just wanted to drop you a note about your story. i am not a lily/serverus fan and yet i cannot get enough of this fanfic! it's absolutely delicious in its darkness and doom. i can only imagine how snape will be redeemed - it seems so hard to see a way at this point.as i eagerly await the next chapter, i am wondering if i should seek out others in this ship. you've made me a believer.
Response from Tarpeia (Author of The Redemption)
Wow, thank you! I doubt Severus can be redeemed, nor would he probably want to. The remorse is painful, as Voldemort knows... I admit I love this pairing, and I can't but recommend it!
This story is so emotionally intense. I can't say that I like Lily too much, but you have to feel pity for her. I will say, though, that I don't think I'd receive much satisfaction from my captor's sexual advances but Snape IS persuasive. As always, I can't wait to read the next chapter!! I hope hope hope it's not the last one, this could continue for more than three chapters. Dying to see if/when Snape gets his wish.
Response from Tarpeia (Author of The Redemption)
Thank you very much! I'm currently working on the third part. In truth, I would really like to write more chapters, but I can't promise it yet. I'm sure the pleasure Lily feels is due to Severus' abilities (eventually his potions - but I shouldn't reveal this now...), not to her own desire. But why do you dislike her character?
The madness of obsession - will Severus ever remember that once he did have a soul? I suspect a child is his wish - and will that prove to be yet another obsession?
Response from Tarpeia (Author of The Redemption)
That's a very good question! Personally, I'm sceptical about Severus' own redemption. He definitely wishes to have a child, but his hurry to make Lily pregnant is calculating as well: he wants her to transfer her attention to the baby, because it would bring a new sense to her life and make her accept her condition more easily.
Oh, my. Very dark, very well written. Poor Lily.
Response from Tarpeia (Author of The Redemption)
Thank you! It's true... Unfortunately, her suffering isn't over...
I am passionately in love with this story. Seriously. I agree with the comment that someone made about whether you should hate or feel sorry for Severus. It'll be interesting if Snape makes good on what he said to Lucius about children.
Response from Tarpeia (Author of The Redemption)
Thank you! I think he deserves both pity and contempt, although Lily has probably suffered too much to feel sorry for him... but that's debatable as well. His intentions concerning children will be specified further in the next two chapters. Thank you for your compliment!
Response from funkypixiechick (Reviewer)
I'm just curious as to when you will update this. I've seen this posted elsewhere and you had noted that you originally wrote this as a one-shot.
Response from Tarpeia (Author of The Redemption)
That's right! The chapter II will be complete in a few days, but then I should submit it to a betareader and wait for the admin to validate it. If you wish, I can send it to you after it is proofread. ;) But I must warn you, it's really dark...
very nicely written! cant wait for the next chapter!
Response from Tarpeia (Author of The Redemption)
Thank you!!! The 3rd chapter will be posted shortly!
Oh, I love a good, Dark Severus! Perhaps Lily will be sensible and realize which side of the bread has the butter, no? Thanks for your work!
Response from Tarpeia (Author of The Redemption)
Me too! Well, Lily has no choice: she has to change her point of view if she is to survive without getting mad... But it will be a long and painful process. Thank you very much!
This is so darkly twisted that one hardly knows whether to despise or pity Severus in the depths of his obsession and bitterness. Because we all find him fascinating, we often tend to overlook the fact that somewhere in the dungeon of his psyche, he did have this potential - perhaps because we watched him overcome it and salvage his own soul, is why we've grown to love him.
Response from Tarpeia (Author of The Redemption)
That's beautifully said! You are completely right. But although Severus is a real and unrepentant Death Eater in this fic, I still can't help loving him...
A very dark story. Sirius was predictable. Interesting that Lily is already thinking about what will happen ten years from now.
Response from Tarpeia (Author of The Redemption)
Thank you for your review! You're right, it was quite predictable: I hoped it could remind a little bit of the tragedy (the hero is aware of his fate and can do nothing to change it). I believe Lily isn't really thinking about the future: she just wakes up after days of fever and realizes there is nothing but years of suffering ahead... That's her "redemption", in an ironic sense.
That was delectibly, evilly awesome!!! I could certainly see things playing out this way had the Dark Lord won. Honestly it was just hubris on his part that he DIDN'T stun the Potters to get to Harry. It makes perfect sense that he would do so so he could torture them later. Of course, had he, we wouldn't have had much in the way of Harry Potter books.Wonderfully written. Showing the dichotomy between 'loving' Snape and hateful Snape was well done.Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!(now to scurry off to see what else you've written)
Response from Tarpeia (Author of The Redemption)
It is I who should thank you! Thank you so much, dear
Response from Tarpeia (Author of The Redemption)
, for your wonderful review! I'm glad you like my Severus - in fact, the dichotomy between his two main traits was essential to me. I haven't written anything else yet, but I'm thinking of adding one or two more chapters. Even if they were to be sad as well...
