A published Aussie author for a number of years now, I decided to dabble in the waters of HP fanfic for the first time. I hope my stories are acceptable.
Reviews for The Hidden Mark
Wow. Quite the twist on the prior situations, and flowing perfectly within the books, up to the modified obliviate.Nicely written.

Hi
Response from Alison (Author of The Hidden Mark)
. I'm glad you like my HP fanfic stories! If you'd like to read one of my original non-HP stories, I have one posted to this site as well: my literary agent is at the moment attempting to get a publisher interested in it, so it may not be up for much longer. It's here, if you'd like to read it: http://www.thepetulantpoetess.com/viewstory.php?sid=11932Thanks for the reviews, I appreciate them!Alison
Alison I had no idea you could write dark and twisty! I love it! I think the way Ginny’s subconscious keeps fighting “enchantment” was a nice horrifying touch.
Chilling--and very well woven into canon events.

Thank you for that! This seems to be one of my less-popular fanfics, perhaps because fans like to think of Harry and Ginny living happily ever after, so I'm pleased when somebody takes the time to comment!Alison
Ginny, sweet little Ginny with Voldie? Very interesting and well-written.
Response from Alison (Author of The Hidden Mark)
Oh, thank you for your comment! I wrote that one months ago, back at the beginning of the year; it's nice to know people are still reading the story. I'm glad you liked it.Alison
Nice job. Definitely an unexpected twist from CoS. Good story.

Thanks for your comment. I lot of people have read this story since it was posted, but not many have given me feedback so this is appreciated. I was beginning to think nobody liked it!Alison
Unexpected, I'll admit. I've never really thought of Ginny and Voldermort in a relationship but I guess this story sort of makes it work. Ginny, as a spy...interesting.
Response from Alison (Author of The Hidden Mark)
Thanks for that; interestingly, this story has only generated two responses so far, as opposed to quite a few with my other stories. It seems the 'ship is not a popular one, and I admit it was one I've never thought plausible before, but it's one of those stories that just sort of jumped up and forced me to write it!I tried to convey that Ginny was acting under an enchantment, a sort of very subtle Imperius curse, and when Voldemort said "You will keep my soul safe" he meant that she had become a living Horcrux, one whom Harry could never bring himself to kill.Alison
oh this is just a lovely twisted tale! I like how Ginny almost caught the edge of the enchantment, but it was never enough to break it! Thank you!

Thanks for that comment! I suppose the story (like most of mine now, unfortunately) is hopelessly AU, but I am still proud of it. Alison

There is nothing, NOTHING wrong with AU stories. I think some of them are better than canon. Cough cough DH blows cough cough!

Hee, I've gotta agree with you there! BTW, I was reading an interview with JKR where she said that Professor Snape would get his portrait in the Headmaster's Office on Harry's insistence. So I decided, since she's no longer in the biz of writing HP, to do a fanfic detailing that particular bit of the story. It's been posted below:http://hp.adultfanfiction.net/story.php?no=600011745I also hope it'll come out here on Petulant once they've decided I've dotted all the "t"s and crossed all the "i"s!If you wanted to take a look at it,(it's only short) I luuuurve reviews!Bests,Alison
I was scrolling your stories index and came across this one... Very well done - I just *love* when fic fit into canon like a mizzing piece in a jigsaw - and as I was left quite "meh" by Ginny's evolution in canon, I truly appreciated the twist you gave her in this piece. And Voldemort, too. I took it as evidence in HBP that he used seduction and sexuality to achieve his goals before being almost killed in Godric's Hollow... I would have loved to see more pre-Harry Voldie in canon, since the "new" one is kinda lame :-D Or perhaps he was doing like in your fic - still using his maleficent charm over willing victims... Only, we never got to see it. He connected with Harry just when he was pissed off XDGood job!
Response from Alison (Author of The Hidden Mark)
Thanks for that! I agree with you, we tend to see him only through Harry's filter, don't we? I wouldn't think he'd get so many followers unless he was a master at manipulating people. We saw some rather clumsy examples of that in DH; either he saw no need to still do it, or else JKR just can't write seduction and sexuality (my personal belief).I finally have an lj, but there's nothing there just yet! I've been too busy (work, family, studies, writing, both for profit and fanfic) to put anything into it! Hopefully I'll get to it eventually!Alison
Very interesting take on the Voldemort/Ginny idea from the CofS plot line...the "what-if" theory of their interactions. Ginny would be the perfect spy though...no one, including Harry, would ever suspect her. Great job!
