As I read it, the banana was a rather small item intended to assure the witch that the evening would not be too strenuous, but she panicked at the size of the real thing when he peeled it.

I have to say, being guilty of this myself, that there are not many men who do not have an affinity for female members of the auburn follicled persuasion. That said, only Lockhart would ever be dumb enough to actually buy that book...Oh well, at least he didn't try an engorging charm...........that just screams "very unpleasant accident waiting to happen."
