Man, actually makes you feel sorry for Narcissa. Nicely done.
Chilling, though excellently written and all-too credible tale. I do think there are hints in HP that Lucius is devoted to his family--and yet at the same time that he wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice them. And, of course, it's all-too plausible the Dark Lord would ask Lucius this. I really bought into all Narcissa's shifting feelings and thoughts here. It's a great character piece for her.

Thanks, Christy! I know it was sad, but there just didn't seem to be another way for this to end. I'm glad you liked it, though!
Very nicely done. I think the whole thing was very in character for all parties, including the Dark Lord's decree that Lucius kill Narcissa for her traitorous behavior. And a nice job showing us what she might have thought while facing the inevitable.

I thought this was really well written 
and a great insight into their relationship. I love stories centred around Narcissa, she's one of my favourite characters, and you portrayed her really well. You gave the character lots of depth and motivation!

Very interesting story. I liked it, but I'm curious... Since the Avada Kedavra is pretty much supposed to be instantaneous (I'm assuming, since every time we've heard about it from JKR everyone hit by it just drops down dead immediately) would Narcissa even have had time to have any thoughts at all? Just curious.

Well, I used a device often used that I guess you'd call "slowing time down" for lack of better phrasing. That part was like any scene in lit or on TV or in a movie where the person dying has their life "flash before their eyes" right before death. It was described for a while, but it took place in a split second.

Thank you! I tried to think of how I could have her escape that was realistic and in character, but I was struggling with it, and decided this was a more realistic ending. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
