I'm a forty-something American woman who is addicted to the SSHG pairing, relatively new to this fandom. I'm also considering starting some original fiction soon...
Check out the story I co-wrote with Remarkable -- it's called "Hidden Attractions" and (as soon as it's through the queue) it's archived under the penname remarkable_linlawless.
For those who are interested, I've got two WIPs at my website (which I will eventually post here, but not until I have a complete draft). It's easy and free to join the website, so I hope you'll visit!
I am honored that my story, Witchy Woman, has been selected as a featured story for September 2010. Better yet, this honor came with the very awesome banner at the top of this post!
Here's a couple of banners my friend Atuliel made for the two WIPs at my website:
Reviews for To Cure a Curse
Wow, he really didn't know? That is going to be interesting.
Response from linlawless (Author of To Cure a Curse)
I don't think it's clear in canon that he *did*, and I can make an argument for why he didn't, so ... ;) Thanks for reviewing! :)
I was as shocked as Hermione. He didn't know? Woe, that's new. Something Severus didn't know. Holy Mackerel. *giggle*I love it when they work as a team. *sigh*Thank you again for sharing~

LOL, my theory is there's no reason why he would know -- he was busy at Hogwarts, I believe, when it happened, and it's not like he was someone anyone would gossip to, so ... Anyway, glad you're enjoying so far! :)
Good to see your story up and running.
Response from linlawless (Author of To Cure a Curse)
Thanks! And once again, I appreciate all your very helpful comments and corrections! :D
Off to a great start! But Dumbledore's symptoms are a little vague, don't you think? Poppy didn't run scans on him? Snape needs to check him for dark magic. Would it work if someone tried to check themselves? Wouldn't the results be tainted by that spell/curse/hex? Or is that all part of your nefarious plan???
Response from linlawless (Author of To Cure a Curse)
Hehehe, I like that you call my plan 'nefarious'! :D As you may have guessed, the symptoms are purposely vague (even though the scans and things happened in the next chapter). Thanks for reviewing! :D
Oh, this looks like fun... except for the fact that Dumbledore is withering away to nothing evidently. It looks like Hermione has gained a small amount of respect in Severus' eyes. This quartet should be quite interesting to see at work.
Response from linlawless (Author of To Cure a Curse)
Well, it was certainly fun to write, so I hope it's fun to read :) This quartet always has such potential for brilliance -- or murder -- when they work together! Thanks for the review! :)
Sounds like an exciting start--Dumbledore without his optimism is like a sky without stars, hardly worth thinking about! I'm also looking forward to discovering just what Hermione does as an Unspeakable, and the upcoming personal dynamics of the group. Hope the next chapter will be up soon!
Response from linlawless (Author of To Cure a Curse)
LOL! Well, the thought of Dumbledore without his ubiquitous twinkle was part of the inspiration for how to deal with the prompt. I hope you continue to enjoy it! Thanks for the review! :)
I can't wait to find out what is wrong with Albus. And also how the Trio and Severus would work together..
Response from linlawless (Author of To Cure a Curse)
It'll be a few chapters yet before you learn what's wrong with poor Albus. So far, Hermione's been smart enough to keep Severus as separate as possible from Harry and Ron ... :) Thanks for reviewing!
My goodness... I look forward to the next bit to see if there is more than meets the eye going on here. *sigh* Poor Albus.Thank you for sharing~

LOL, there's definitely more going on than meets the eye. What fun would it be otherwise? ;) Thanks for reviewing!
Hmm. Something fishy is up. :)
Response from linlawless (Author of To Cure a Curse)
Hehehe, isn't it always?! Thanks for reviewing! :)
I look forward to more chapters!
Response from linlawless (Author of To Cure a Curse)
More are on the way. Updates should be very regular, barring a major catastrophe of some sort. Thanks for reviewing! :)
This is an interesting conundrum you have here. I'm very happy that Severus and Hermione have gotten off to a good start, unlike Harry and Ron– head-strong as ever. I think they all have their work cut out for them.I'm looking forward to seeing where you take our favorite characters.Beth
Response from linlawless (Author of To Cure a Curse)
Thanks! Glad you're enjoying it so far! :)
Oh, those boys are full of themselves! And is Hermione a little jealous (or disapproving)? We'll have to see how Severus takes to her directing things. It seems like they will be a good team.
Response from linlawless (Author of To Cure a Curse)
Yes, they are full of themselves, aren't they? I suspect it's a defense mechanism to keep themselves from reverting to feeling like scared first years ... Hopefully they'll be a good team. :)
It's good to see Hermione can keep the boys from going off without thinking things through. Really good start here.
Response from linlawless (Author of To Cure a Curse)
Thank you! So glad you're enjoying it so far! :)
Oh, I loved Hermione telling those boys what's for! A very interesting memory. Hopefully they figure it all out.
Response from linlawless (Author of To Cure a Curse)
LOL, glad you enjoyed Hermione's approach to Ron and Harry management. :) The memory was interesting to write. It wouldn't be a very interesting story if everyone knew right away what happened, would it? ;) Thanks for reviewing! :)
Ron is Ron, and Harry is Harry, and Hermione is still herding cats where her friends are concerned. LOL! I got a kick out of the way she got the two of them sidetracked. Cannons, indeed. From what Poppy said I think Albus is in real danger of losing his battle with this curse... and from his memories, I hope Hermione and Severus, with Ron and Harry's help, will be able to discover just what happened to him. There are suspects aplenty, and I think it might require all of them working together to find out who the culprit is.I liked Severus' quick explanation to Hermione of how he knew the woman at the gentleman's club was a long time employee. Thanks for a very enjoyable chapter!!!Beth
Response from linlawless (Author of To Cure a Curse)
I figured it would take mortal danger to Albus to get Severus, Harry, and Ron working together instead of at cross-purposes. Glad you liked Hermione's strategy for dealing with her friends -- it was amusing to write that part. Thanks, as always, for the review! :)
I love the way Hermione shut them up.
Response from linlawless (Author of To Cure a Curse)
Hehehe, she's learned a little (very little) subtlety, hasn't she? At least for one of those brash Gryffindors! ;) Thanks for reviewing!
Hmmm. I don't think it was any of the adults. It was the toddler with the wand. An accidental curse? It happens. ^_^
Response from linlawless (Author of To Cure a Curse)
LOL, I'll never tell! At least, not until I can't avoid it! ;) Thanks for reviewing!
Oooh, interesting beginning. I can't wait.
