Oooo, creepy. Poor Tedious One, a little sad because he didn't have a personal relationship that could be used in such a way. Typical that the TO doesn't realize that he should watch his own back.

Thank you! Creepy was one of the things I was aming for.He creeps me out so much in the books, and nothing pleased me more than the fact that Severus did fool him, and did so to the bitter end. This is a bit of a homage to that.
You leave us with that perfect state of questioning - did Voldy see reality or only what Severus intended him to see... There was a surgical clarity in this - you indeed cut right to the heart of the matter - and yes, in this case, the pun is intended. I'm so pleased to see you posting more and more !

Love your precise categorisation of all the characters, setting immediately the mind-sets and atmosphere; such precise and powerful images...
