I apologize in advance.
Reviews for Prisoner of Hope
HOLY........... DAMN! That was insane! Intense! Those succubi - that was the coolest rendition of the demon that I've ever read! And what a surprise! The Aurors coming up upon those two women - I had no idea... well, not until they started getting friendly - then I was thinking.... hrm... and then, BAM - you hit us with demons!Poor Alastor! And what was the whole twist with Dru at the end? Some kind of mind-read by the succubus? Using his memories to control him? That was one insane chapter! You've really outdone yourself! Drooling for more!
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
Yea, and I thougt the maestro was mean.
Your story came up to me when I clicked on the Random Story link recently. I had seen it before, but wasn't really interested in Alastor Moody as a main character. I decided to give the story a chance anyway, and I'm really glad that I did! I'm extremely impressed with the story you have woven to this point, and I really look forward to reading the rest as it comes. You have made young Alastor Moody absolutely a fascinating character with a depth of backstory I never could have imagined. I also enjoy how you are working in past generations of characters that we are familiar with because of JKR's wonderful books. I am impressed with your excellent story and look forward to more. Thanks.

Thanks. Glad you're liking it.
Hey there Eyebrow! I was just looking over my favoritees - and noticed this story had not been updated in a while - wanted to send you some support and cheers, in hopes that you just needed support - and know that we're waiting and watching and hoping you continue - Alastor is depending upon you!I sure hope you continue with your tale. Looking forward to more excellent writing from you, about one of my favorite characters!

Finally got two more in the queue.
Response from Fishy (Reviewer)
Woo Hoo!
Poor things, finding incompatabilities. A lot of couples would try to whitewash this, which is the sort of thing that will tear them apart eventually.
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
Darn that 1% rule.
It's so interesting to see Moody as a young kid, trying to figure out his love life... trying to figure out his career... trying to decide who to believe and trust in both arenas...You make this completely believable and interesting.
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
Thanks. That's definitely a troubling age for most.
Oh, and the break finally comes. Thank goodness. I'm sure by now Tom wishes he'd made friends with a Ravenclaw, but that wouldn't help much, either. It's just too bad... not. Tom will have to wait for a Gryffindor. Will there be one before Peter?
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
Hmm... hard to say.
Moody and Druella now that's a novel pairing. Bellatrix might have been even scarier if Moody had been her father. :)I'm enjoying this story and look forward to more.
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
Who knows; Bellatrix might've ended up an Auror herself.

Thanks. More on the way.
Mmm... I like it that Shacklebolt and Alastor are being partnered on an assignment, as well as her taking a sort of *personal* interest (she seems more and more relaxed around him, official, but a wee bit softer) - the night is early and Queenie has implied it's going to be a long one - looking forward to it!
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
Me too, hee hee...
Arg... far too short - but an intimate look into our Alastor and Queenie - a very personal look indeed - and the way you write Queenie - its almost as if she was somewhat sensually affected by Alastor's journaling. Very interesting and, as always, much appreciated - and FAR TOO SHORT!ARg!
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
I know; sorry, considering the waiting time in the queue and all. I needed this one as a levering point to ramp of the the rest--which will be longer.
Response from Fishy (Reviewer)
I am impatiently waiting - and will try much harder to be patient! *grins* But don't hold it against me if I get antsy! Its just such a great yarn!
That's quite a start to his career, but it's such a storied career. I sense that you are going to treat us with several such stories.
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
A few, and hopefully some of them will halfway decent.
So that's how it happened. That's quite plausible. It was hard to imagine how Barty would have actually got the drop on him.
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
Everyone has an off-day, right?
So much for constant vigilance Alastor. I like this story idea. I'd never thought about how Alastor was taken captive or how he felt during that year. I'm looking forward to seeing where you take this.
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
Thanks, I hope you'll like it.
Moody's cavelierness is causing me to *squee* big time! Wonderful atmosphere and characterisations in the pub; the Dementor's attack is truly creepy (love the rhyme!) Poor Alastor - things were going too well; just, I'm also saddened that his memories, recalling Druella, weren't strong enough to produce a Patronus...
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
Yes, although a Patronus is a difficult piece of magic to pull off just the same.
Love the drill and the forthcoming task! Love you drawing us in with all of the nitty-gritty Auror trainee obligations - Maestro is a real piece of work!:-) Can't wait for them to go incognito in London!
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
Well, idle hands are the devil's workshop, I always say.
Firstly, I confess to having several physical reactions to this chapter - a wave of nausea during the revelations of the SS propaganda meeting, (gah!) and, chills, as we're experiencing Druella's rationale of the content and it not quite registering with Moody the 'threat'; this precursor paralleling the fascistic mentality in the Muggle world, as well as the residue of Grindelwald, and forthcoming DE diatribe - just cringingly breathtaking and wonderful!Your poetry is beautiful, as is the poignant scene between Dru & Alastor, the revelation and setting up of Andromeda *tingles*, and the tears-inducing point of Moody loving her unconditionally for the real her - something she's not use to. He is such pure gold (and a true sweetie (completely fallen for him myself!)
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
What's sad is that even after all that I still like Druella.
Mmm... I love the elite forces training, the tasks, the introduction of Queenie Shacklebolt and the others, the challenges to each trainee, and the wonderful comaraderie and banter between them all - great dynamics!
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
I have a feeling they'll look back on almost being crushed and killed with fond memories.
Wonderful description of the Rosier dwelling, as well as establishng precisely Evan and his sister's pov's and chemistry. Barty is the perfect personified fanatic - again, I love it that you're telling Moody's story! So happy to discovered this gem!
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
Why thank you. You're one of the few that have deigned to stick around this far in. LOL.Alastor gets no love in this fandom... I guess next time I'll have to write a Severus tale or something.
Response from nagandsev (Reviewer)
Hahaha - LOL! As long as you promise us more MOODY! Seriously, your originality is a wonderful, much-needed breath of fresh air! Gives the rest of us stick-in-the-muds hope and inspiration!
Powerful display and challenge of wills and intent here; yes, Tom means for there to be only one greatest wizard in the world; glad Alastor had the strength to resist - wonderful tale!
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
Yes, I can't wait to see what they do when they become seasoned wizards.
Yikes... that was close. I love how you write the action sequences. They're amazing.
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
Thank you. I think I have too much fun writing them and sometimes forget to scale back.
Wow... that's not good, but they couldn't further antagonize their hosts. Poor Alastor, I think he really could have felt something for the giantess.
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
Agreed. They might meet again.
...he's not worth fracturing your soul over." - Wonderful! The foreshadowing of what has become and will further become in the future of Riddle is chilling, really excellent. I enjoy so much all of the moral and ethical banter between these two, the opposite sides of magic. The Unicorn... symbolic and poignant - great work!
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
Yes, You definitely gotta lay on the symbolism.
"Really? How was it?" "Satisfying." - HA! Your ability to depict the smooth, charming, smug Riddle is wonderful, as well as the righteous, noble-hearted Alastor. The foreshadowing of the Death Eater's diatribe and founder is eerily, goose-pimple wonderful; very effective Tom's callous and superior mentality, and poor Moody slowly realising the other side of his mates true-self- Fantastic!
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
I think a lot of people don't realize that Riddle was indeed a very charming person when he wanted to be--he'd have to have been to swindle all of those artifacts for his horcruxes. I was curious to play around with that a bit.
*snip*"Albus Dumbledore is a pretentious old goat. Like you, he is senile and far past his prime."What blasphemy! The outrage! The complete disgrace.... Crouch should be castrated above an alligator pit just for saying that.... - how dare he ridicule dear, wonderful Albus.... and of course, many more punishments for the horrors he wrecks on Alastor - probably involving using his as cut bait for piranas or something... they tend to devour the individual in tiny bites over 2 to 3 minutes - horribly painful I would expect.
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
LOL! And I thought Moody was mean.
Response from Fishy (Reviewer)
My hackles hike up when someone attacks my purple-robed wizard! Or Alastor! *snorts* Or Minerva! Or Hagrid! I guess I should stop now...
Wow - talk about Moody keeping control - I mean turning Crouch's mother's memories over onto him to gain the upper hand - brilliance.... how does he maintain such a calm resolve? And excellent story line - easy to follow, understandable... and I enjoyed the banter bettween McGonagall and Moody!
Response from White Eyebrow (Author of Prisoner of Hope)
Lol! I wonder how much of that was also Moody being a mean-spirited SOB. It looks like all of the maestro's training was good for something afterall.
Response from Fishy (Reviewer)
Oh aye, he can be quite the hyena, can't he?
