Avatar blank done by LeDevineMarqiuse, adaptation done by Creamuts for me per request.
I am: an unrepentant Snape supporter, female, mid-thirties, a person that loves me the het and gen fic, a big fan of Darkfic and Death Eater fic, a person that doesn't t like werewolves, a person that doesn't care for about 99% of the slash, which (despite vehement protestations to the contrary), does not make me homophobic. I just don't like AU and OOC, and that's what most slash is. At least, most of what I've seen.
Really if you want to know more about me, my LJ is a better place for this.
Reviews for A Girl & Her Cat
Awww... I do so love kitties. (I'd hope so, since I have 4.) Nice reflection on a cat's affection.

I have a cat who does exactly that. I wubs him so much! Thanks for the review!
Oohhhhh, its so sweet! A beautiful, beautiful canon depiction of the wonderful relationship between Hermione and Crookshanks. Almost brought a tear to my eye. Well done indeed!
Lovely story. The imagery is excellent. It took me back to when I had a pet cat, and I can remember all those things... very nice story. However, not only does it reflect upon the special bond between person and pet, but it shows a much more vulnerable side to Hermione, and after reading it, I was struck at how easy it is to mistake achievement for seeking acknowledgment, but I may be taking too much from it... Either way, it is a wonderful story.

Thank you! I really love this little bitlet. I have a cat who does that all the time (as if you hadn't guessed. ^_^ )

I'm so not a cat person - we have one cat to deal with the mice, but she doesn't really like to be handled, and would never lower herself to sitting on a person's lap. But the dogs we've had, and yes, the horses, all have that sense of human emotions and the near-magical ability to sooth them. This is a nice little, pointless, fluffy fic. It considerably brightened my day.

MASKY! *GLOMP*
Yes, you should come to my hoiuse. All my cats would love on you, especially my blue-point Siamese (the one who inspired this fic) and my FluffyLoveMuffin of Fluffy Love of Fluff, who loves you. And loves your cat. And loves your horses. And loves everyone.
(Except the dog. Who pays no attention whatsoever to his hissing.)
Awww, that is so sweet! I, too, am a cat lover being the owner of two (one a tuxedo (black and white) male, and a cinnamon tabby female) both of which my family and I rescued from the local animal shelter. You couldn't ask for two more sweet charactered critters (except when it comes to my hubby's "pure-bred inbred french poodle" which can be smart as a whip but at the same time, dumber than dirt, not unlike a parallel to some of the pure bloods in the HP-verse, hey? LOL).I have experienced the same behaviors that you described so well in this one-shot. Well Done! =D

Yeah, I have a cat who does exactly that (he now sleeps ON MY HEAD *flail*). I have eight - two who were born here from a rescue mother (who was supposed to have been *fixed* *FLAIL*), their mother, one I found under a bush, one born to a feral mama, and the rest are all rescues.
Anyway, my blue point was doing that to me and I was like "z0mg plot bunneh!" *ahem*
This was a very sweet look at the relationship between girl and cat, as well as witch and familiar. I am a "cat woman" too and understand EXACTLY how Hermione feels! Thanks for sharing.

Awww. Thanks for the review! :)
Oh this is so sweet. I want to go right out and get a cat....uh - no-- can't. I'm allergic to the little buggers dears. Oh well, My dog loves me. I can see you really understand how close one becomes to a 'mere' pet. Thanks for a sweet story.-Wahoo

I'm so glad you liked it! And love on your dog! Dogs are awesome! As for your allergies, well . . . if you really want a cuddly one . . . *cough* http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sphinx_cat
I love stories about Crookshanks!
One thing I wanted to point out though (and I hope it doesn't bother you), but you wrote about Hermione's 2nd year, but she didn't buy Crookshanks until her 3rd. :)
Response from cmwinters (Author of A Girl & Her Cat)
Eeek! Where did I do that!?
(Thanks for your review and I really want to know where you caught the error; I'd rather fix it but I haven't been focusing a lot of energy on Hermione lately and I suppose that shows...!)
Response from Shishkeberry (Reviewer)
Ah you must have found it because it's not there anymore. :)
Very nice. I like that she appreciates what her familiar does. I think many of us can always count on our pets. I know when I cry, my cat comes to me and genuinely tries to comfort me or seems to "ask" what's wrong. heheIs there more to this? I see that it's not marked as complete. If so, looking forward to it.
Response from cmwinters (Author of A Girl & Her Cat)
Oh dear, I will have to mark it as complete. Right after I go and put the part where he licks her tears :P
Thanks for your reminder, and certainly for the review!
The chapter was actually taken out of part of my longer WIP, but itself could stand alone and was SO CUTE that I just had to do it. But when I post my multi-chaptered novel, this will be in there. :)
southern_witch_69's response: Oh, great! I can't wait to read the longer version. It's the last sentence in the third paragraph, I think, says in her second year when... You could just change that to third if you want it to follow canon. (I saw the other review.)Aw, how sweet! This story reminded me of Liebe, a grey tabby cat I had when I was in high school. Whenever I was feeling upset, Liebe seemed to know it and would come sit on my lap or curl up next to me.
