Thank you so much. Even such a little boy has his small happinesses, bright spots in his sadness.
this was so sad, beatifully written. Poor boy is he up to a disapointment
Response from janus (Author of Church Bells)
Thank you very much! He is up for disappointment and sorrow, but also he will be brilliant and he will learn many things. Poor boy.
Poignant portrayal of a child who still has hope. :)
Response from janus (Author of Church Bells)
Yes, this is a wee Severus who thinks everything will be different when he goes to school. Thank you so much!
This is so sad... and so canonically plausible. It makes me want to send Severus a present.

Thank you so very much! I hope to make the stories plausible and consistent, and it is so kind of you to say so. 8^)
This fic made me love Severus even more. A life beginning like this help me to understand why he chose to join the Death Eaters in the first place. He would follow anyone that showed an interest in him. This is also why I love happy endings for him, he deserves them. Great fic, well done.

Wow, that is a fine compliment! I try to give him happy endings, even though they are also bittersweet. 8^) Thank you so much.
A well-wrought tale of someone making the most of what little they have.
Response from janus (Author of Church Bells)
Thank you so much! He is doing his best to create special things, and they become special because he has great will and imagination.
Poor little guy! I like the way he makes a holiday for himself when no one else really does.
Response from janus (Author of Church Bells)
Thank you very much! He is genuinely happy with his little things, though. He knows they are a substitution, but he believes. 8^)
This is a beautifully crafted piece of backstory, worthy of publication. You've captured the essence of Severus' youthful innocence amongst his life in the ashes.
Gah! I picture him as this poor little skinny kid in overgrown clothes, and I just feel like I have to grab him up and snuggle him to me, and make real Christmas cookies with him, and have a tree with presents under it with his name on them! (whew, that was a big run-on sentence!) In short, I liked it a lot, it just makes me ache for the little boy he was.
