Reviews for All the World's a Stage
Loved how you picked up the highs and lows of acting. The bits that are ephemeral and the parts which are same-old-same-old. I think those two old wifies were sitting next to me the last time I was at the theatre!

Wel, thank you! I have no expereince in acting at all. My only participation has been as an audience member; I enjoy the theater, but I have been happy to stay as part of the peanut gallery! (but as much as I hate to admit it, I am probably more like Blue-Hair than anyone else there, LOL!) Thanks so much for reading!
Excellent description of what it feels like to the actor when he has the audience right where he wants them (Robert as Hamlet). It is all a bit melancholy for the most part, but I tend to think the entire process of live theatre is rather wistful because it is so transitory. As an actor who has done more than her share of Shakespeare (including the Nurse and Lady Montague and Hamlet) in regional, semi-professional stock, I take my hat off to you.

Well, this is high praise indeed! I have to say that I have never done any sort of acting work at all, so this was all just research and imagination. I'm glad to hear that I got it close to right. Thanks very much for taking a chance on it, and for your lovely compliments. I am much obliged!
Nice stories. They really do fit well together. It is actually kind of sad, all of it. You have Robert who seems to have it all. His adoring fans think he is the greatest thing ever, his cast mates probably envy his status, and yet he is miserable. Is his contempt for his castmates a product of feeling so lonely, or has his attitude towards everyone and everything driven people away? Who knows.Jim probably entered this business with stars in his eyes and look where he is today. Totally jaded about it all. At least it seems that he enjoyed this career early on. He is smart to get out before it totally does him in.Olivia feels a bit down when she thinks about the dreams that she didn't follow. Who is to say that she wouldn't end up like the other two after a time? If only she could put her life in perspective like we as the readers can, she would probably be infinitely more happy with her life choices. Then there is Sara who delighted me with her enthusiasm towards something that she had sworn herself to hate. I laughed at her feelings towards the aptly named Blue-Hair and Ugly-Shawl. They are a dime a dozen at the theatre aren't they? I really liked her for some reason, so I find myself hoping that her draw to acting is either a passing fancy, or she will be one of the ones who makes it and is happy too.Ok, that is enough rambling on my part. And over an o-fic. What is this world coming to?!?! Thanks for posting here. I have been too lazy and busy to go elsewhere to read your stuff. Lazy and busy are a bad combo in case you hadn't gathered that from your own life, LOL.

I'm glad you took the time to wade through this mess! It was like a mini-NaNo challenge. I've never done linked stories, and I didn't know what the prompts would be beforehand, so I was really glad I went in the direction I went in instead of superheros (which is what I was contemplating with the first prompt of "hero"). I also had a personal challenge of using a secondary theme of exploring different aspects of regret, so I think it worked out okay in the end. I hope it wasn't too much of a downer to take in one setting!Okay, I am finally home from work for one day (OMG HOW DO YOU DO IT EVERY DAY?!?!?!) so you are getting a long overdue e-mail right this minute, missy. Prepare for your update!

Ha! I don't see you as the type to write superhero stories. Now that you have put it out there, you must! Come to think of it, you've written men in fishnets, so superhero tights shouldn't be a stretch, LOL.I shall try to respond in kind this evening. I'll see if I can write a note that is more than me complainging about that show. I refuse to even call it by name :)

I just wrote one about a drunken Tooth Fairy, so you might be surprised (you'd know that if you got an LJ acoount *gives you a pointed look*)And I am writing about THAT show to you as we speak, LOL! We need to discuss, totally!

Oh, thank you so much! I am so glad that you took a chance on this one. Even being in the Lumos section it didn't receive much notice, so I truly appreciate that you took the time to check it out. You have my gratitude!
