Avatar blank done by LeDevineMarqiuse, adaptation done by Creamuts for me per request.

I am: an unrepentant Snape supporter, female, mid-thirties, a person that loves me the het and gen fic, a big fan of Darkfic and Death Eater fic, a person that doesn't t like werewolves, a person that doesn't care for about 99% of the slash, which (despite vehement protestations to the contrary), does not make me homophobic. I just don't like AU and OOC, and that's what most slash is. At least, most of what I've seen.

Really if you want to know more about me, my LJ is a better place for this.

That's who I thought it was as soon as you said 'beady eyes'. Interest POV, considering Pettigrew's cowardice. Nicely written.

Response from cmwinters (Author of The Cloak)

Not very many people get that!  Good job! Thanks for the review!

Ooh, sneaky little rat. But why is he HELPING Harry??? I'm rather confused. Interesting take on this!

Very cleverly written. =DI cannot recall what this refers to, "when Goyle’s son made an appearance, he gave the boy exactly what he felt was coming to him (and his father). Content with the ensuing chaos, he feigned sleep again."I guess I'm going to have to read the Sorcerer's Stone again to refresh my memory.  Oh well, no loss, I don't mind rereading it again.  =)However, I am ashamed to admit that it took me a bit to figure out that this was Scabbers' story.  D'oh, you'd think that the phrase "scampering off the property unnoticed"  would have clued me in.  Thankfully I was fairly sure by the time "he dutifully scampered back to the top of the Astronomy tower" that I had finally put it together that this was Wormtail the dirty rat and scumbag's tail, um tale.  LOL;D

A very original take on where the cloak came from. Now I know why I really dislike the rat.

I think this is one of the few stories that give a realistic insight into Pettigrew's mind. Once you've read it, you understand why he was actually admitted into the Marauders' little circle, why Voldemort found him worthy of being a Death Eater, and how he had the stomach to betray his friends and murder multiple people to corner Sirius... The only thing I don't get is why he wasn't sorted to Slytherin. Is this why you suggested, in another story, that he could have been a Muggle-born? Anyway, a brilliant fic!

Response from cmwinters (Author of The Cloak)

Well remember, the Sorting Hat will let you choose your house (sort of; it wanted to put Harry in Slytherin and he begged not to be).The idea that Pettigrew is a Muggle-born didn't originate with me although I confess I don't recall who mentioned it.  It was in one of very many post HBP discussions in one of very many locations and at the time, I was comparatively new to fandom and it didn't occur to me to credit every thing I heard all the time.  I'd probably recognize the post if someone showed it to me, and would be happy to credit whomever I got it from, if I had any idea where it was.Thank you for the review!

What a great and original take on where Harry could have gotten his cloak. I never see many stories with Pettigrew POV

Response from cmwinters (Author of The Cloak)

Thanks. :)

I actually *completely forgot* that Dumbledore had *admitted* to giving the cloak to Harry, so I set out to analzye where he'd actually gotten in from, and I looked at everybody's writing.  Of course, Dumbledore's 1st year and Dumbledore's 6th year writing didn't match up...but I'm sure that's due to his injury.

However, apparently, Peter's not a well-liked guy. ;)   When I went to upload the story in various archives, he's not usually listed as a selectable character. :P  (Which is Ok, I don't much like him either...)

Thanks for your review!

southern_witch_69's response: LOL... too right. I don't like his little ratty arse either, the traitor. I assumed that you'd written this before we found out it was Dumbledore. It's all good though, still original AU What Could Have Been...
