It's sad how women in that situation cannot see how they can leave.

Oh, how very sad!  Your title and the analogy that goes with it is so fitting to the situation.  She needs to just walk out the door and never come back.  But that probably won't happen.  Still, I'm feeling optomistic tonight (weird, I know) so I'm thinking that she did have that moment of clarity in the dressing room where she picked the dress that she wanted to get-the one which made her feel feminine and attractive- and purchased it.  It was short lived, but maybe one of these times she will feel so good about herself that she doesn't go home again.  Your thoughts and emotions feel spot on, as always.  Nice job!

You know things like this infuriate me. All I will say is that you did fine work as usual, and I wish more women would just learn how to leave.
