Reviews for The Beginning
I love it! Now...where do they go from here?
Response from diabolica (Author of The Beginning)
Thanks so much for this kind review! As for where they go from here, they proceed to another story, Misbehaviour, which is part of the same universe as (in chronological order): Weight of a Constellation; Covenant; Scylla, Charybdis and the Delicate Art of Secret-Keeping; and In the Matter of the Application of Malfoy, Draco.
As has been written before - more, more, more! More prequels, please! Really enjoy these intimacies between Narcissa and her men -- I mean, the men in her life: her future husband, as well as a certain future Potions Master, etc. Enjoy Lucius seeing in her something she's not yet (maybe) fully aware of herself; and them both being hesitant on different levels, about different aspects of themselves.

Aww, thank you! *blushes furiously* I do love Narcissa and Lucius together, especially when they're imperfect schemers who manage to find something fascinating in each other. I'm happy to know you've enjoyed this 'verse. :)
What a nice change of pace from Narcissa worshipping him. I like the way they talk to each other. Is this part of something larger?

Glad you think so, and thanks so much!Yes, this piece is a prequel to my story Misbehaviour, which is part of the same universe as (in chronological order): Weight of a Constellation; Covenant; Scylla, Charybdis and the Delicate Art of Secret-Keeping; and In the Matter of the Application of Malfoy, Draco.
I really enjoyed this little view into the relationship between Narcissa and Lucius. I could feel their mutual awkwardness, and I liked the idea of Lucius (who was clearly a popular guy) still needing to square his shoulders and gather the courage to speak. You really evoked the atmosphere well, including the chill of the owlery.Very nice. :-)

Thank you so much for this thoughtful review! I kinda love Narcissa and Lucius a really lot, so it was fun to imagine the beginning of their relationship. They have a whole history in my head. :) It's lovely to know you enjoyed this piece.
