I wonder if Hermione would ever consider telling Severus about a dialysis machine - like is used for kidney dialysis? The premise behind the dialysis is to filter out the impurities from the blood that the kidneys can no longer do. If not, the toxins build up in the person's body, slowly poisoning them to death. If they can recreate a type of dialysis machine, it might be enough to not only pull the venom out of his blood and tissue, but assure that no more of the poison leeches into his bones.

Good call! Hadn't really thought about that ... Muggle things, that is. I'll have to think that one over! :)

Great idea, that venom-extracting from the blood! I hope it was a cure they did find.
Alcina vom Steinsberg's response: Ah, just saw that it was the final chapter for the moment. Can't waid to read on! Evil cliffhanger, that is! ;o)
Author's Response: So sorry! The final two chapters are in the queue so keep your eyes peeled - they should be up shortly! Thanks!!

And for the first time, he realized that he had completely forgotten how.
Ah, the key question... he has, hasn't he? ;o)
The magical synthesis is a very interesting idea. I'm wondering, though, why you make no mention of the case of Arthur Weasley's snake bite. The bite was finally healed with some potion, so there must be some information about Nagini's venom existing.
Author's Response: It's true, it's a good point that that was healed, but I think in this case the amount of venom that was injected into Snape would have had to have been much worse than Arthur, and so I was trying to allude to the fact that potions that were used on Arthur weren't as effective. I wish I could go back now and make this whole story longer so I could work in points like that ... maybe one day! :)

Being so drained is very understandable indeed. Though I can't keep from asking, what did he think would happen? He must be aware that his situation could only be a complicated one.
Good chapter! I like it that you don't join in the usual Ron-bashing, but give him a good role and character.
Author's Response: Yeah, I'm really not a fan of Ron-bashing. I like him a lot as a character in the books, and I get a little irritated w/ the movies for treating him more as comic relief. So he's a bit of a prick here, but he's his own character, and I hope that comes across! Thanks for reading and reviewing!!

Interesting beginning! I'm curious about the reason for Lucius' death; I suppose it was deliberate.
Author's Response: Thanks for reading! It was a deliberate choice and hopefully it makes sense in the context of the story. More to come!
Excellent chapter. Loved the spell for the blood draw. Wish my doctor had that instead of using a needle every three months. ^_^
