It sounds like a feasible conversation... The trouble with cannon is that JKR never built these relationships convincingly enough. At least we know Luna had a healing effect on Harry...And JKR somewhere made the comment that Ron is someone she wouldn't like to date. Why then forcing him on poor Hermione? On the other hand, Viktor was pretty thick himself.

Thank you! You know, I don't know that Viktor would be thick. He was the Durmstrang Champion, after all. At least Viktor treated Hermione with respect, which is something I don't think Ron ever really did.

I agree Viktor was quite fond of Hermione and he always treated her with respect. However, the impression I got is that he was a brainless jock. Take for instance his behaviour when he and Harry found Crouch dead. Then, in Deathly Hallows it seems like he's just looking for "easy dates" at the wedding, although I think that was an inconsistency on JKR's part. I mean, Hermione wote him lengthy letters, and then barely pays attention at him when she sees him? Even if they were just friends, that isn't what you'd expect.
Aw... poor Ron is taking it so hard. Ginny should be a little more understanding. At least she has Draco. A Silencio and body bind are probably a good idea under the circumstances.

This was a good scene. I really liked it. I actually perfer Ginny with Draco. I would have loved to see Arthur and Ginny hex Ron at the ceremony.

Leave it to Ron to be a selfish prat and plot to ruin his best friends' day. At least Ginny had her head on straight. And I can just picture Ron bellowing silently and wriggling about ineffectually on his chair. Definitely a keeper for the wedding album.
