Again your wonderful ability to precisely capture relationships, characterisation and the detailed environment and mood of their world and the moment by moment sensibilities and pov. This story particularly had a special dynamic pace in the text/subtext, which I really could feel. I love your zesty Lily and a smiling Sev when in her presence!

Thank you very much! A lot of thought went into the details you mention: Snape and Lily's environment, their characters, their relationship. So it's good to know that paid off in enterntainment value. :)
Thanks for painting a very plausible relationship between the youngsters. I can almost taste those allsorts, and wouldn't mind some of the Spangles either.

How kind of you to say. Thank you! I'm happy to know you found their relationship so plausible. :)
That's an interesting theory, to be sure (and a lovely little story). JKR once said that unlike Voldemort, Severus had one person who truly loved him -- and it seems fairly clear that the person to whom she was referring was Lily. When I read DH, however, I frankly don't see Lily's behavior toward Severus as being particularly loving. Actually, Lily's behavior (even if neither JKR or Lily realized it) struck me as being a little Slytherin-esque...her friendship with Severus seemed to be prompted more by a desire to learn everything she could about the Wizarding world than by genuine interest in him.

Thanks so much for this review! You raise a compelling point here: a lot of Lily's behaviour in DH exhibits a hunger for knowledge about magic, and as Snape was her only connection to that world for so long ... . Right. There's a lot I find unsatisfactory in JKR's explanation of their relationship, but writing this story helped me get some insight. It was very interesting to read your thoughts. :)
I can see it being that way.
