It was the most perfect ring he had ever seen. And he was hoping for a perfect night to propose to his one, true love.

I am a relative newcomer to the world of Harry Potter Fan Fiction. I recently discovered the good 'ship HG/SS, and I've been hooked to the point where it is my OTP.
I was a Ruth Kirschstein NRSA post-doctoral fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. When I am not at the lab bench or in the classroom, I am an organist. I'd be in a church near me, occupying an organ bench, and blowing dust around the nave. (Just kidding.) Currently, I serve as organist/choirmaster for a couple of small Episcopal churches near Duke University.

LOL.... poor Draco... though I admit to not understanding Hermione's rejection, though the ring is not that pretty...;)

Admittedly, I thought the ring was rather hideous. As to why Hermione reacted the way she did: you might want to look up "goatse". That might make Hermione's reactions a bit easier to understand.
Poor Draco, so confused. I hope he gets a second chance.

That, my dear QWG, I leave up to the imagination of the reader. ;)
Oh good grief ... why you gotta remind me of such shenanigans? Ewwwwwww ... but thanks for writing!

/grins evillyWell, someone's gotta do it. ;)Thanks for reading and reviewing. :)
Aww. Poor innocent Draco!
Response from lyn_f (Author of Ring of Glory, Ring of Shame)
Awwww ... who would have thought poor ickle Draco was so innocent? Either that or he's too vanilla for his own good. ;)
I just had to look this up. EWE, but funny that Draco did this. Poor guy just thought he was doing something good.

Indeed. Poor, clueless Draco. :) I'm not normally a DM/HG shipper, but I figured if I used Draco in this story, it would only make sense if I chose a Muggle-born as the female character here. Thanks for reading and for the lovely shinies. :)
Oh, my, and I just didn't like the way the hands seemed to be holding the heart so tightly! (in comparison to the original design where the hands seem more to cradle the heart)Anyhow, great spin on the theme, and nice build up to the punch line.

Thanks so much, Rose! Yeah, I thought the ring was rather tacky myself. Oh boy did it take on a different meaning once I worked out what "goatse" meant! :P
After finding out what goatse is I must agree with Hermione which is sad because what Draco said was really lovely.

Oops, sorry, forgot to respond to this review!!! Yes, it is indeed sad. Such a shame that goatse had to be a part of this equation!
Just wow Lyn F.

I'll admit that once I figured out what "goatse" meant, it completely changed the direction I took this piece. Thanks much for the review and the shinies. :)

As a pureblood, I suppose Draco doesn't spend a lot of time trawling the internet. I hope he gets to explain.
