Wow. That was utterly magnificent.

This was beautifully written. It's just a shame, that a bath will not undo the damage already done to, and done by, this pair.

I'm torn between the horror of their behavior toward just the Longbottoms for example ("hangin's too good for 'em!" as one might say in an old Western movie), and the horror of an inhuman prison system, and yet again the horror of what they will face as soon as they're ready to see the Tedious One again.

That was so sad.  Even though they were evil and vicious, that little scene was tragic.
