With a prompt of "suicide", this one has a little twist at the end.

Reviews for The Ties That Bind
My first thought was that Tom was the one committing sucide - then you had his wife enter. In under 600 fords you had me worried, then in awe and sad. It's horrible to have lost a child - and you show the pain and tragedy of it beautifully.

This was a lovely review, and I thank you for it. There is no greater compliment than being able to bring you to all those emotions, especially with such a short story. That's why I do what I do, to find that connection and common ground that we all can relate to. Don't get me wrong, I love the fun stuff, but when I can reach out and shake someone, that's when I feel like I've done something worthwhile. So I very much appreciate you letting me know that you felt this one. Thanks very much for reading it and taking a chance on something new!
*Grabs a box of tissues* I would have to say that is the worst thing that could happen to a parent is too lose a child.

I am glad that I was able to wring an emotional response! I was worried that the prompt would make me get all melodramatic and theatrical, so I am happy to see that it seemed realistic and not cheap. Thanks so much for your comment, I really appreciate it.
I'm nearly in tears. Parents should never have to burrow their children.

Although I am sorry for your distress, I am glad to evoke such a strong reaction for my story. Thanks for letting me know how much it affected you. Thank you for your review!
Wow. I don't know how there is time to have a twist in a 578 word story, but you did it. This is really, really good. I hope you continue to do original fiction... just not all of the time. Our good old friends in the Potterverse would be lost without you there to make them do things they don't want to do ( or things they do want to do, but they make it sound like you forced them in order to save face). I liked this a lot!

I'm so glad you took a chance and that you liked it! *jumps up and down* I thank you most heartily. And now for th bad news...I actually write more original fiction than I do HP stuff. I know, I know... it's hard to believe. And unfortunately, I am running close to the end of my stock of HP. So, I don't mean to inundate you with nothing but o-fic, but we are reaching the bottom of the barrel pretty quickly. I am going to have to start writing, I guess. *kick lazy self's butt*Anyway, thanks so much for your great review! I will try to think up a few good stories in short order. If you have any propmpts about Harry to help stir me, that might help... *wink*
I liked the twist. Very sad.

Thank you for your review. I am glad you liked it, even if it was sad.
Dear Keppiehed. VERY nicely done!Using just 578 words you make me care about these two original characters, Tom and Sue. I sympathize with them. I care.
Keep writing, please.

Wow.
Very well done, and moving.
Author's Response: AWW! Thanks so much! And thanks for taking a chance on my original work, I'm thrilled that you did. I know it isn't as exciting as HP. *hugs you*
