A set of two holiday stories exploring the relationship between Dumbledore and Snape. After helping the headmaster move the Mirror of Erised to a new home, Severus Snape receives an unexpected gift as the New Year turns. Several years later, as Albus Dumbledore celebrates his first Christmas after the dramatic events on the Astronomy Tower, an old friend arrives to remind him of the gift he once gave.

This was truly lovely. I really loved the phoenix ornament and how it brought hope to those who received it. Both were so lovely and fit together so well, I was surprised to read they were seperate stories. Very well done.

I really wish the phoenix had made some sort of appearance in the last book, I guess this was my nod to all that Fawkes represented (at least, in my mind!) This was a lovely story. Makes me think the presents under our Christmas tree are quite silly.
