Care of Magical Creatures recently received two awards on "Secrets of the Dark Vaults," a Russian fanfic site. Best NC-17 and Best Maxi Translation. The Nine-Year Plan was awarded Best Mini-Fic! I'm delighted to be in translation and to please the readers in Russia!

About Mia
I came to the world of Harry Potter relatively early, after first resisting it because it just seemed too trendy. But when the first book came out in paperback in the US I picked it up at the airport when I was about to catch a flight, and two chapters in knew I would be ordering the original from amazon.co.uk in hardcover as soon as I landed.
I came to fanfic late, waiting until after I'd read DH. That means I've been totally obsessed with the fanfic world of Harry Potter, and most specifically the SS/HG ship, since August of '07.
I'm helplessly and hopelessly hooked.

Well, I read this because 1)how could I pass up one of your stories, and 2)how could I not find out what was in store in a story called The Maggot?
This is my first Snape/Luna and I went into this thinking that it was not going to work for me. But, as always, I was wrong. I think I found it more believeable since she first bonded with the seventeen year old Snape, then if she had just jumped into a friendship with him as his standard adult self.
You write this Luna very well. She still embraces her oddities, but is a little more mature, just like a twenty year old Luna ought to be.
I loved that it was a happy ending for all... even the yucky maggot beautiful, rare creature.
This is one of the few times I can say this and have it be true...Thanks for the gift. It feels like Christmas morning :)

I really enjoyed the character voices in this, and Luna's is certainly a difficult voice to master; great job :) a very cute, amusing and well-crafted short story.

This is wonderful, Mia. Luna has some very special qualities that are often overlooked, and you've done a great job of illustrating her gifts. I'm so happy Severus went with her to where ever it was she went...
They couldn't have him. They would not take care of him. They would only use him. She, on the otherhand, only wanted what was best for him.

Thank you! For some reason Luna, to me, offers something wonderful to Severus, so Snuna has become a pairing I rather like, even though SS/HG will always remain my OTP!
