Reviews for Finding Draco
This start looks promissing! I quite agree that Voldemort could design such a creepy condition on his followers for the case they fail him. Let's see how Luna can help him. A tiny remark, though: what makes you believe that the US would be the furthest from the UK?? They even speak similar languages!
Response from Keppiehed (Author of Finding Draco)
ROFL! You are so right the the US isn't actually that far away. Good point. I'm glad you found your way to this story. I always rather liked it, and it doesn't get much attention. Thanks for reading it!
Oh my gosh this is soooo sad!!! :(
Response from Keppiehed (Author of Finding Draco)
Awww... *hands you tissue* I'm sorry to disappoint you. I really thought I was writing a pretty happy one, what with Draco finding himself and working on his better side, healing and returning home. I am seeing the outcry, and the error of my ways! WAAAHHH!Thanks for reading, and I hope you try some of shorter drabbles. They are a little more fun!
Response from DraculaRulez (Reviewer)
Hehe, its fine you have not disappointed me, quite the contary but I found it sad, sort of bitter sweet but i like it :)
Loved your story - Do you plan to conitnue the healing of Draco Malfoy? His re-entering of the magical world would make interesting reading.
Response from Keppiehed (Author of Finding Draco)
Oh, I'm glad you think it would be sequel worthy! Sadly, no, I can't say that I have any plans in the works for a continuation of this particular story, but I am writing a Round Robin with a very similar theme. It is going to start being published soon, and my co-author is Literaryspell. The title is Princes in Exile, and it deals with Draco having been living as a Muggle in America for 7 years, and his subsequent return to England and how he re-enters society. I think you may enjoy it!Thanks for reading and leaving your review!
I must admit that the ending left me wanting more, but I can understand why you wrote it that way. At least the Faerie let us know that eventually they would find each other and be happy. We just have to fill in the spaces with our imaginations.I enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing.
Response from Keppiehed (Author of Finding Draco)
Oh no! I am sorry that you feel kind of deflated by the ending! I can see how you would want them to be together, but I thought it wouldn't ring true if I suddenly threw in a romance at the last minute. I hope it wasn't too much of a letdown; I wanted to focus on Draco's self-discovery, and hopefully that made up for the empty spaces. Thanks for reading and for your reviews! I'm glad you stuck with me!
Response from ClayPotter (Reviewer)
I wouldn't say I felt "deflated." Quite the contrary. I'm the type of person who likes to fill in the blanks. I just thought it left itself open to a great sequel (hint, hint). ;)If not, I'll just fill it in with my own imagination.
Response from Keppiehed (Author of Finding Draco)
Well, I can't say I have a sequel planned for this particular story, but I'd like to direct you to my upcoming Round Robin with co-author Literaryspell titled "Princes in Exile". It starts with Draco having been in exile in America for seven years, and his subsequent return to the magical world. It is a story more with Harry, but Luna does make a brief appearance. It isn't the same, but it might tide you over!
*sigh* Well, you kind of knew going along that they weren't going to end up in a flourish of violins and rose petals. At least, Luna's just not that kind of girl. (I think I may have dated Luna's RL equivalent once. Very confusing) Even so, I can't help feeling a little disappointed. Not in you, but for Draco. All his buildup, and none of the closure. Hm.
Response from Keppiehed (Author of Finding Draco)
AW! Don't be disappointed! I know you were wanting the romance, but I was aiming for more of a realistic take. They wouldn't have been a good match, and this way, Draco found himself. Now he can be happy! It was good that there was at least ONE girl he ran across that wasn't dropping dead at his feet. And maybe, just maybe, someday when they meet again he will have grown up a little more, so you never know what will happen...Thanks for reading the whole thing and staying with it! I appreciate your reviews, and I hope you liked it, even with the little bit of a different ending!
Response from liviconnor (Reviewer)
Oh, I loved it, and really I loved your characterization of Luna. It would have been nice to have a proper goodbye, but then, that's not her style, is it? Luna's kind of like a semicolon. She doesn't stop, doesn't start, looks a little bit awkward, but has a distinct place in the world and knows her own purpose.
Response from Keppiehed (Author of Finding Draco)
You got her exactly right! *high fives you* I kind of felt bad about not having a more definite ending, some sort of confrontation, but it just felt exactly in keeping with their characters. I am glad you understand, even if it leaves us feeling a little wistful. Yeah, I too wanted it to work out. But it just would have been a cheat to write it any other way. Thanks for your support and for your lovely comments. It makes me feel glad to know that I got Luna dead to rights. I was never quite sure if she sounded right, so now I can rest easy.
Very interesting twist of fate here. Forgiveness and remorse are so liberating. He must see the error of he ways.I thought perhaps the other "s" word that Harry spoke of was "Selfishness." That would fit too.And Luna's final comment was brilliant. She will keep him guessing and coming back for more. She's just great!
Response from Keppiehed (Author of Finding Draco)
Your "s" fits very well... perhaps better than my own! I like it!I'm glad you like my Luna. It is the first time I have written her, and I find that she just says what she wants to, very easily! Thanks so much for reading and reviewing. I am glad that you like the story so far!
Draco's managed to say "sorry" to Harry, but now he really needs to apologize to Luna. And not that rushed thoughtless one he gave her when he said he was "a bit of a prat"... That was wayyy more than just a bit! But I suspect he'll be feeling it when she doesn't bill him, or owl him, or anything him at all. I can't wait for the next chapter, even if it is *sniffle* the end!
Response from Keppiehed (Author of Finding Draco)
AH! That Draco! You know that's just his way. I don't know if you'll like how I wrap it all up. I think it stays true to everyone's character, but yes... the next chapter is the last one! Thanks for sticking with me faithfully, even if Draco is a bit slow on the uptake! I just love hearing your reviews!
Draco may not want to know where he got it right, but I certainly do! I hope there will be a discussion about his choices when he comes back again. It's so amusing watching his sarcasm and barbed comments just slide right off of Luna like they were nothing, while he just gets more and more confused. It's a great dynamic, and I look forward to Draco's attempts to regain the upper hand!
Response from Keppiehed (Author of Finding Draco)
Oh, I am glad that you are enjoying watching him blossom! Don't worry, I have the whole thing written, but my beta is super slow, as is the queue line here, so I am afraid you may have to wait awhile to find out what happens! Thanks for your lovely reviews; I am glad someone is enjoying the story!
Poor Draco, so embarrassed at the thought that he might actually have an ounce of compassion within him! Rationalization is a lovely thing... Now how long will it take him to come back?
Response from Keppiehed (Author of Finding Draco)
I hope you like what I have done with him. I can't let him of Scot free! I love a tortured Draco! Don't worry, I try to walk the line between making him the guy we want him to be and the canon character we know and love. Let me know what you think!
Great story so far...I love Draco/Luna pair-ups! Actually, I love Luna with just about anybody, she's one of my favorite characters in the HP universe. I'm enjoying the concept of Draco having been "poisoned" by Voldemort's dark essence, and can't help but wonder if maybe that's part of the reason he fled the magical world? On a subconscious level, he recognized that magic was harming him and so he left to try to negate that influence inside him?Looking forward to reading about more of their "sessions"!
Response from Keppiehed (Author of Finding Draco)
I am so glad that you are enjoying the story! I have never written Luna before, so I hope that I am doing her justice. They are both very vivid characters and fun to write. They seem to leap off the page and write themselves! But I don't want to skew into the cartoonish, either. So I am glad to see that you like it, and I thank you for reading and reviewing!
Enjoying the unusual pairing and looking forward t more.
Response from Keppiehed (Author of Finding Draco)
Hey, thanks! It's all written. Just waiting on the beta now! Thanks for reading!
