I have loved the written word since watching my mother’s fingers trace the lines of a book, luxuriating in riveting tales and well-turned phrases. Many a night I read until dawn, a plastic flashlight hidden under the covers to light the pages as I raced the rising sun to finish my latest must-read.
Since joining the HP fandom, I've been privileged to receive more than 50 awards, including Best Author (Quill to Parchment Awards) and Best Classic Author (Most Potente Passions). Among others, my stories have won awards for Best Hurt/Comfort (Spoils of War, Morning Has Broken), Best Novel Length (Calling Card, Guard…Check…Mate), Best One Shot (A Beach in Ireland), Best WIP (Saving a Death Eater, The Summoning), Favorite Overall Story (Complexities), and Readers’ Choice (A Quest of Paladins).
Aside from a judicious polish for formatting and egregious typos, I don't plan on revising my early work. Those stories are the stepping stones of my writing journey. Please note some stories contain adult content. None is more graphic than equivalent scenes in the television shows True Blood or Game of Thrones, and age appropriate warnings are posted.
I no longer write fanfiction prolifically. Like many fanfic authors, my focus has shifted to original work. A member of the Romance Writers of America and the Southern California Writers Association, I write under my name: Lin Thornhill.
My original story Verisimilitude published in Thoroughly Modern Monsters (Story Spring Publishing, 2013) reached the top 100 fantasy anthologies and broke into the top 10 in the UK the first month of release. Ben and Christine’s story will continue in 2016.
Fixation, my latest short story, slated for publication in J. Aldis’ anthology Immanence, with a winter 2015-2016 release, is particularly exciting as it anchors the Messengers of Inari novel series I’ve been developing for the past year.

lovely and very hermione. i can see her doing exactly that. thanks muchly
Response from Bambu (Author of Brewing in Pairs)
I think she has compassion to spare, and in her triumph I can see her being magnanimous, and even stretching it to be kind. Thanks so much.
What? This is way too short. Surely there is more coming? *hopeful eyes*

What a marvelous compliment. I can tell you that there might (might, mind you) be more to this story, but only after I complete at least two of my three WIPs (one of which will be today.)Thank you for the compliment.
This was nice. I don't usually care for HG/DM stories but you have managed to put a new spin on things and made this believable. It is even kind of sweet in a sort of mangled post war way. Thanks for sharing.
Response from Bambu (Author of Brewing in Pairs)
What a lovely thing to say. Thank you very much. I think there's a lot of potential in HG/DM after the final battle. I won't even consider the wretched epilogue.
One step at a time, we can rebuild. :)

I think it's possible, yes. But then again, I'm an optimist. ::grin::Thanks!
I think the emotional strain in this situation is well-written and true to character. Well done.

Thank you very much. What a very gratifying comment
What a well done story with a light touch. I like the ending, it's just enough to show how things get started. Definitely a new favorite. Everyone in character, properly... that's one of my favorite things about your writing.
Response from Bambu (Author of Brewing in Pairs)
What an absolutely marvelous compliment. You've actually made me blush. Thank you very much.
Great story. I liked that Hermione not only in words, but also in action, showed that the war is over, life goes on and forgiven is forgiven. At the same time she is so human in her want to win the Felix potion due to being the better brewer, rather than Harry who won because he used Severus receipes.

Thank you so much. I think there will be difficulties in forgiving Draco so easily, and yet, I think the long term benefits will be greater than either could possibly know at this point. And I couldn't agree more about Harry's cheating. If he had shared it with the other students once he'd discovered the short-cut, that would be different. But he didn't.
This is very good. It brought a lump to my throat when Hermione surmised the reason Draco so wanted that potion. Her compassion for underdogs (due to her experience of being one) is one of her best traits. I love that you've chosen it, along with her logical practicality, and her ability simply to forgive, as the basis of this story.Good job. (My eyes aren't dry yet, either.)

::offers you a tissue:: I'm sorry to have made you cry, but I'm absolutely thrilled you understood why I chose to show her compassionate side. I really think it's one of her strong points, and after the revelations about Snape, and the very clear evidence that Draco is pretty broken, I can't see her NOT offering forgiveness. His receiving it wouldn't have been so easy had he not been desperate.Thank you very much.

A very thoughtful and considerate tale. It's good to see Hermione acting in fact on practical forgiveness and moving on, as well as being so generous offering Draco the whole bottle. For Draco, the wish for using the Felix in case he wins it is indeed understandable.
Author's Response: Thank you very much. I've long considered Hermione to be the humanitarian of the group, and with her own perspicacity having been thrown into question by Snape's life and death, I imagine she might take the idea of forgiveness to heart.
OH! WOW! It has been so long since I 've read any new Dramione, but I LOVE your writing. And I am so so sooo glad that you still write awesome Dramione. And I am thinking, it has been more than a year since I've read any of your stories on LJ too. LOL! *such a bad friend* So... yes, I am thinking that I need to do that later. LOL! This was brilliant as hell. Is there going to be more of this? Maybe? Hopefully? LOL! Love it lots!PEACE!Isa(chavelaprincess)

Isa! I'm absolutely tickled to see your name pop up on my screen! And thank you, thank you, thank you for giving this a read. If I were to develop a fuller Draco/Hermione story, I think this would be the starting place. I thought it was an intriguing set up.::smooch::

OhMyGOSH! I was so psyched to see something set in school. One of the main reasons I STOPPED reading Dramione, is that they got depressing because of the books ending and all. And LOADS of people have stopping writing them in school. So I stopped reading. LOL! But I saw that this was based in the school years, and saw that it was from you, since I still get the alerts from you when you update. But I was so happy! I am so glad to read this. And I would love to read more of your recent stuff if you want to rec anything you've written lately, because nothing would psych me more!!!!! *tons of love .:. glomps**
brilliant!!

You were very kind, and thank you so much for having left me a review.
I was trolling TPP and found this. Excellent story. I like the interaction between them. I can see where Draco might be ostracised since he was the one to let the DE's into Hogwarts, but I can appreciate that Hermione would be the one person to try and make friends with him. She'd know what it's like to be alone.

A belated thanks on my part -- I'm catching up after having had a hectic couple of years. I think you're right; Hermione's the sort to prove her good faith. Draco, on the other hand, is a complex, slightly broken young man. I think he'd be resentful and yet potentially open-minded for the first time. Not that he sees her worth, but that in the face of so much, significant opposition, he sees that he might have been wrong.
