I'm a Michigander who works from home, keeps my husband in line, and raises two wild, wonderful daughters. I write so I don't go insane.

I love this story. The contrast between the advice and what actually happens is terrific. Hermione, Snape, BZ, and the delightful Agnes keep me in stitches and the plot rolling! Cngratulations.
Forget the Granger wench, Snape and Agnes could be hot stuff! :)
haha love it, love the humor in this. PS whats with the sudden 2 year late update? :P
This is hysterical. I hope we'll get to read more soon!
You're back! Yupie!
I'm looking forward to reading more of this. The agency is a great venue for Severus and Hermione to bicker and get to succumb to one another.
love it! more please!
Great story thus far. love the secretary handling Snape!
Looking forward to seeing what happens next!
Ok I feel better now. I read the first chapter and thought "I KNOW I've read that somewhere before". Then I noticed that you wrote the first chappie quite a long while ago so I guess I read it then and never marked it as read. Of course it's still going to drive me slightly mad because I thought I'd read an entire story--but since this is a challenge story, I probably read another in the challenge. Not trying to suggest any illicit doings on your part, just wondering if I've read one too many fanfics (is there such a thing?) that they are now running together.
The story is quite fun and I like Snape's secretary. She probably has the right attitude to deal with him. (I liked the line about the extra pocket money). Tho' I am curious who Ron married. And Ginny.
I'm really enjoying the story so far!
Great start to this story. Love the way you portray Snape. His secretary is a perfect foil for his character. Looking forward to more.
The secretary reminds me of Harrison Ford's secretary in "Sabrina." She knew just how to handle him.
Great story. Not sure how Snape will ever get past the fact that she left him for dead. That is a real issue with him, and rightly so. I can hardly wait to see how you handle it.
Kreacher just saved Hermione's waistline, LOL! This is light-hearted, which is exactly what I needed today. Thanks.

Thanks! The next chapter should be in the queue soon, just waiting on my beta :)
This beginning is really interesting, I don't know if you have lost interest as I've noticed you like to write shorter length stories. But it's such a good start, well written & intriguing - please please please continue working on it. Perhaps you could post the written chapters mentioned in the previous review?

I'm having chapters 3 and 4 looked over right now, since it's been ages since my beta first saw them, then I'll upload them for posting. I hope chapter 3 will be up within the next few days - but it depends on beta time and then how fast the queue is running here :)
Hello, peppermintWell, November has passed quite sometime ago, but, alas, there's no third chapter in sight...I wish you would continue this story, because I really like these first two chapters. Please?*puppydogeyes*

Hi,
Response from peppermint (Author of W-Harmony)
:) I'm glad you're still interested in the story. I decided to finish it all before I start posting again - and then I had family issues, the SSHG exchange, other small projects. However, W-harmony is the only thing on my plate right now and I won't be taking on any other projects until it is done. Chapters 3 and 4 are fully written and I'm working on 5 - I anticipate about 12 chapters, total. I hope you will find it worth the wait when I begin posting again :)
Response from Poetica (Reviewer)
I'm glad to hear this, Peppermint :)And I'm sure, it will be worth the wait. It's a pity that there is no story alert on this site - I hope I'll not miss the next chapter...
Response from peppermint (Author of W-Harmony)
I'm not sure about story alert, but if you mark me as a favorite author, you'll get an update anytime I post something new :)
Response from Poetica (Reviewer)
Well, thank you for the cue! I'll do that :)

Hi,
Response from peppermint (Author of W-Harmony)
! If you're still interested, I wanted to let you know that I'll be posting chapters 3 and 4 to the archive as soon as I get a beta to look them over again, as it's been about a year since I wrote them.
yeow! what a fantastic begininng! love your style, chica! thanks and mucho smoochies
Love IC Snape and his snarky assistant. Excellent witty banter, and she tells it like it is.The decision-making process is proving difficult for Severus. Hermione is the most talented of the job applicants, however, she annoyed him for six years and left him for dead. Will business logic win out over bitter emotions? I say, "YES!" But poor Hermione, so desperate for a job and her independence. How much grief will she tolerate just for gainful employment. I can't wait to find out.
Response from peppermint (Author of W-Harmony)
I'm so glad you like this and that you think Snape is IC. I really wanted him to be, as I'm pretty sick of Fluffy, Romantic Snape. He can be romantic, but he still needs some bite!!
Hello, mystery writer. Let me begin by telling how pleased I am to have found your story so late in the variety challenge. It is a wonderful change of pace. I like that you chose the YLC challenge to revisit. So much potential fodder to mine. Snape is the last person on Earth I would expect to successfully match couples. Harry and Pansy might go wild when they learn who matched them, but if you use those tried and true compatibility equations... I can just see the tension brewing between two such meticulous people as Severus and Hermione. Can't wait to read more.

Thank you, lovely lady, for your indepth and thoughtful review :D
This is going to be fun. And funny. Not to mention that I am currently looking for a job, and the CV tips were just great :) and I look forward to more Agnes/snape banter.and since I'm a bit dim, could you tell me where the references to Robert Heinlein and Aaron Sorkin were?
Response from peppermint (Author of W-Harmony)
I envisioned a combination of Mrs Landingham from The West Wing and a combination of Jubal Harshaw's three lovely secretaries (Anne, Miriam, and Dorcas) in Stranger in a Strange Land, when I was working on Agnes :) The line where she says "You're going to come to a bad end, Boss" has the flavor of Jubal's secretaries. Don't feel dim, it made sense to me (as I'm a rabid, rabid Heinlein fan) but was probably a bit obscure for the average Heinlein reader :)
Response from mock_turtle (Reviewer)
Oh yeah...I read "Stranger in a Strange Land" for summer reading before my junior year of high school, and to be honest, I didn't understand much of it. I should probably go reread it :) I was always been a bit young for my age and lots of the adult stuff was over my head then. I did love "Have Space Suit--Will Travel" though!
Response from peppermint (Author of W-Harmony)
Oh yeah, give it another shot now. I understand what you mean about being young for your age. I get so much more now out of many books I read in high school, just because I have more relevant life experience :) Have Space Suit - Will Travel is good! Have you read The Moon is a Harsh Mistress? Also excellent!
Response from mock_turtle (Reviewer)
I have not read The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. I am not a huge sci-fi fan, and I actually picked up Space Suit because it was recommended by Tamora Pierce on her website :) That and the fact that it was at the school library when my parents banned me from the public library for 4 months... I will try the book you just mentioned, though.
I wonder what Hermione is going to do when she finds out who her potential boss is? And Snape trying to dig up dirt. Poor man, he's going to end up with her as an employee anyway!
Response from peppermint (Author of W-Harmony)
It does seem to be going that way, doesn't it? Thanks for reading!
Please
Response from peppermint (Author of W-Harmony)
writing this story!!! I feel like i've been waiting forever to read another chapter, and now I want more!!!
Response from peppermint (Author of W-Harmony)
The next chapter is almost finished, but can't be uploaded until voting is over and authors are revealed, in early November! Please look for an update then :)
Severus was too funny about Hermione's CV nad letter of introduction. Wonder why he wanted all the 'dirt' on her? I giggled over the comment Kreacher made about his pastries and the one Giny made about Willie Wonka. Very clever! What is BFG? that threw me.
Response from peppermint (Author of W-Harmony)
The BFG is another one of Roald Dahl's books. It stands for "Big Friendly Giant".
More, please??
Response from peppermint (Author of W-Harmony)
Unfortunately, there will not be more before the end of the update period before voting starts - but never fear, there will be more in November!

In a sea of absolute crap mediocrity currenlty plaguing the challenge floating about, this is a gem. It's brilliant, zingy, witty... and a whole bunch of other words that end in Y but I can't think of and you'll get bored with. Well done.
Author's Response: My dearest wench, I bask in the glow of such marvelous praise. And I would never get bored with words ending in y, especially if they are extolling my virtues. ;)
I already love how you're writing Snape - he's in character to the hilt and looking for dirt on a former student who used to annoy him. I wonder if he'll find anything, and if he does, how he will use said dirt.
Response from peppermint (Author of W-Harmony)
Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear that you like Snape and think he's in-character, even though he's more relaxed than in canon :)
"The little hand-waving, know-it-all, leaving-him-for-dead pain in the arse had gone and got herself a fucking Mastery in Arithmancy. He'd wondered why she hadn't come through the office looking for her life-mate after Potter and Weasley had used the services, and now he had his answer. She'd obviously been busy. " Thats always the crux between them, isn't it? Not only the annoying busy-body, but more significantly: she left him for dead. I will love to see how you manage this. thank you for this interesting start!
Response from peppermint (Author of W-Harmony)
We'll see if Snape can get over being left for dead - my vote's yes, as he's survived (and thrived!) up until now!
