I'm a fifty-year-old working mom and wife.  I discovered HP fanfiction late in 2007 and fell in love.  My favorite pairing is SS/HG, but I also enjoy stories featuring the triumvirate of Slytherin bad boys:  Severus, Lucius and Draco!

Check it out! I have shiny banners!

Oh my!  Hermione may not like the reality, but I would love it.  This is such a clever piece, and I like the way it turns the title on its ear.  Well done!Beth

Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Comfort of Dreams)

Thanks, B.  Her real life and dream life are equally dismal, but I would take Snape over Azkaban any day.So glad you liked the drabble.

If waking up in bed, naked, with one naked Severus Snape is humiliation, then I'm willing to be humiliated every day... *grin*

Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Comfort of Dreams)

You and I think alike. ;)

Nasty-like.

Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Comfort of Dreams)

Thank you.  Not too angsty, but turnabout is fairplay.  When you write dark, I get all itchy.  Eww.  And you make me cry a lot, too!

Response from debjunk (Reviewer)

LOL. There's nothing like a good cry, right? Especially when everything works out in the end. :)

Wow, what an ambiguous piece...is Severus her rescuer?   Her captor??  It really captures that feeling of being between sleep and awakening.  Very clever, thanks for sharing

Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Comfort of Dreams)

Ambiguous was my thought exactly.  A lot can be read into this.  I leave it to your imagination. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Since Hermione apparently doesn't consider her waking life any better than her dreams of claustrophobic imprisonment, can we assume that this is a world in which Voldemort won the war -- and that Hermione was forced to become Snape's slave?  For that matter, the story itself doesn't specifically say that Severus is her captor -- if you hadn't mentioned that Severus is the other character in the story, the voice in the rooom could belong to someone else (Lucius, perhaps).

Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Comfort of Dreams)

Good points to consider, MG.  For the purposes of this drabble, Voldemort has been vanquished, yet Hermione is having difficulty coming to terms with post-war life.  She's experiencing a self-destructive PTSD.Thank you so much for reading and reviewing.

The comfort of dreams? or the reality of nightmares? Interesting approach.

Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Comfort of Dreams)

Hermione doesn't care for either option.  Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Well now I want to know the entire back story of how she came to be laying on the stain. In vivid and lurid detail please.

Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Comfort of Dreams)

In order for me to write that, the muse must be locked away in a dungeon, preferably with a tall, dark, horny Potions master.
