Sweet Slumber

AN: Usually, I write a drabble to go with a piece of art. I have a few of these waiting in the wings - I will post them if there is sufficient interest. :)

It wasn't clear how it started, but once it did, it hadn't stopped. Each night they would seek each other out. They never spoke - words had no place here. Each had loss, each had hurt, each drew comfort from the other.

At first, it had only been the abandon of bodies moving against and over each other that had fuelled the addiction, but now it was the aftermath that they all craved. The secure tangle of limbs, the steady breathing of the others that kept memories at bay until dawn, when guilt would part them - until darkness came.
