I'm somewhat addicted to SSHG fics, but have a strong appreciation for Harry/Draco as well. It's nice to have two ships who can double date!
I hope you enjoy reading these drabbles as much as I enjoyed writing them.

I really enjoyed this and I like the idea of Bella being vulnerable and wanting to fit into a persona that her family presents to the world at large. Her chatter and tentative friendship is nipped in the bud, but wouldn't it have been interesting to see what place Bellatrix would have had in a world where she was not influenced by family and her future houemates. So well done, that I really would love to see more in this universe you've created. :)

Thank you so much! It's interesting how different the three Black sisters turned out, isn't it? Bella bought into the prejudice she was raised with, to be sure, but I think it was really her prison time that unhinged her. Being the first born, I also think it would have been more difficult to be the family rebel - she may have secretly wanted to know Arthur better, but could not have gone against her family.
You're the FEATURED AUTHOR!!!
YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!
Now, you need to WRITE MOAR!!!
AV pointed me to this fic - congrats on the feature! Awww! Bella and Arthur! What twisted little mind came up with this, hmm? Artie seems like a very nice boy, and you have humanized Bellatrix. Was this the girl as she was before her family's pure-blood mania combined with Tom Riddle's brand of insanity to poison her forever? This was a delightful read, a very nice excursion into might-have-beens.

Thanks so much for the review! The prompt was Bella's first "crush," and that word alone seems to convey a certain innocence. She was certainly raised with prejudice, which was only made stronger by her association with Riddle. I think her real descent into madness was very likely caused by her time in Azkaban. But I think even Bella had a point in her life when she was still young, impressionable and mostly innocent, and if she'd let herself befriend "Artie", who knows how things may have been different? :)
What a pity the members of those most noble and ancient houses were rased on false prejudice, otherwise she could have found a friend for her life.I haven't read Avollia's fic, but I like your take on the promt a great deal.

I'm not sure if JKR created a monster when she created the Houses, or if it was simply social commentary, but prejudice - in many different forms - is unfortunately a fact of life in every culture... *sigh*
If Bellatrix had been able to defy her natural inclination to avoid anyone but those associated with powerful Slytherin families, this was surely the best chance she had. But Nature would not be so easily thwarted. Poor Bella. This is a great answer to the prompt, and is a good and dark contrast with ApollinaV's funny story.Beth

I agree - I think nature as well as nurture were both against Bella turning out any other way than Dark... Thanks so much for the review!
I like it. Great work :)

Thanks so much! :)
Christev ~ I actually don't remember reading AV's response to this prompt, I'm going to have to read that one now too. This was very good though! I loved how you described the pressure little Bellatrix was under and how you describe Arthur. Very awesome. Thanks for posting. Much Love ~ Brena

Thanks, sweetie. And yes, you DO need to back and read hers - it's hilarious, especially juxtaposed to mine! Thanks so much for your comment - I really appreciate it! C.
Pity Arthur couldn't coax her onto the dark light side! :)

Haha! Arthur, as much as we love him, hasn't always been the most pursuasive chap, now, has he?! Thanks for your review! :D
Poor Bella .(Never thought I'd say that.)
Response from christev (Author of Noble and Most Ancient First Year)
I keep going back and forth between feeling sorry for her and not. Our choices, after all...Thanks a lot for the review!
This is nice to see a less cruel side of Bella. I wonder what really would have happened to her if she had been able to make and keep friends such as Arthur Weasley and if she would be any different.
Response from christev (Author of Noble and Most Ancient First Year)
Truthfully, Bella is a character for whom it's hard for me to find any kind of sympathy. But everyone had to start somewhere, right? And like Dumbledore said, it's our choices that define us... Thanks so much, luv, for your review. :)
When I started to read it, I first wrinkled my nose at the outrageous idea of Bella and Arthur. But you actually pulled it off, showed it as a positively realistic possibility. Well done!
Response from christev (Author of Noble and Most Ancient First Year)
Ha! I was almost tempted to call it crack, because I couldn't ever believe the two of them really getting together - it had to be before they knew each other's family history. Thanks, K - your review means a lot to me!
Is it why she detested all Weasley after that? I'm almost sad for her. Her education is the cause of her present and future behaviour and it will ruin her life.

Interesting thought! I think, though, that the familiy prejudices (on both sides, if it comes to it) are probably so deeply ingrained that a dislike of all Weasleys was likely from the start. It could only be once in a great while that someone would be able to break out of those prejudicial patterns, like Sirius did. And he basically turned his back on his family by doing so. Much easier for the kids to simply follow in the path established by the family.
Remembering crazy Bellatrix, I was a bit frightened to think who might have been her first crush. But Arthur Weasley? An interesting thought, though, to imagine what kind of person Bellatrix might have turned out to be if she had had a gentle Muggle-loving friend like him.
Response from christev (Author of Noble and Most Ancient First Year)
Thanks so much for the review! I couldn't help but picture a more innocent version of Bella, albeit one with prejudices already intact. It would have been interesting indeed, if she and Arthur had actually become friends. For a very different -and hilarious - version of a first crush, be sure to check out Apollina's fic, First Taste of Love, www (dot) thepetulantpoetess (dot) com/viewstory.php?sid=13245
Imagine how different things could have been if she'd ditched the family ideals and become close with Artie. Makes you wonder, later on when these two were firmly on their sides of the war, if they ever think back on this moment. This is kind of an intriguing pair for me.
