Glad you think so. I figured this would explain why she didn't like flying very much later on in the books.

Well risen to the challenge! Hermione's father knowing about Dumbledore and being so cool about it rather puzzles me, though.
Author's Response: Thank you! I kind of had this idea to where magical births are recorded and Hermione's parents were notified shortly after her birth, which is why her father knew about Dumbledore. Hope that clears things up a bit for you, dear. =)

I figure only an early traumatic experience would make Hermione hate flying so much.

That was the idea, dear. I remember in one of the books that Hermione didn't like to fly, so I thought this would be a plausible explanation as to why she doesn't.
I liked that her father said, 'its time to call Dumbledore' as if they had been planning and waiting for the moment. It makes me think of the magic quill that records births. Hermione was adorable. AV
