I have very little sympathy for Lily,she had known Severus for a long time, she knew he was vulnerable he was, and how much her friendship meant to him and still she used one word, spoken in pain, anger and humiliation, as an excuse to drop him.Then to add insult to injury, she will not even let him apologise, there is a word for a girl like that, but it's not normally used, outside a KENNEL! Anything she does now to try and make up for it , is too little, too late.

"Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds... Oh, no, it is an ever fix'd mark, that looks on tempests and is never shaken..." this was the first thing that popped into my head when I first read that chapter in DH explaining about Lily and Severus!
