The fact of Severus' survival was tempered by memories of Minerva's treatment of him that last year and of the circumstances of her last sight of the man.

Snape fancier, wanton researcher of the arcane and sublime, and snark mistress.
Blanket disclaimer: the Potterverse was created by J.K. Rowling -- I just like to play with her toys.

Minerva's determination to care for Severus was just what I would have imagined her to do if canon had treated him the way he should have been treated!Thank you for writing this. It needed to be said!Beth

Yes, well - wounds are gross! Poorly tended wounds where there is necrotizing venom involved are even grosser! :PThank you!!

Beautiful.I love the fact that you gave Minerva a chance to apologise. She had certainly not been nice to Severus during the last year.Cheers. /M

No she had not - and I think finding out the truth after that would have near done her in. Thank you for your review!

I put this one my favourites list! I love it. Minerva and Severus seemed like friends to me when I read the books. In one of the earlier books, when she made that remark that Gryffindor hadn't won the Quiddirch cup in some number of years, "as Professor Snape kindly reminded me," I knew they were good friends.I would like to say that the first sentence does go on forever and I found it a bit confusing the first run through. Overall this story is wonderful, though. I think MInerva's reactions are natural, her idea to box up Severus's stuff and send it to him before the Ministry can get to it is very sensible. and of course she feels bad that she was hateful to him. I loved the Techy Boy touch and thought you did a good job capturing her character.thanks for writing this!

Thank you for your review!Yes, the first sentence is complex - I have a rather viscous writing style, and sometimes toning it down looses flow and cadence so I leave it... thick. I'm glad you perservered!

I'm sure if Canon had let Severus live, Minerva would have felt she needed to apologize and would have been one of the first to his side.

This was a very good characterization of Minerva! I'm so glad she got to apologize. And you make the depth of her feelings clear in so few words when she finally sees Severus. I also like how comfortable he seems to feel with her. You can tell they were friends. That year in DH must have been horrible for both of them!

Thank you very much! I really like McGonagall, and I do think they were friends - I think that's very clear in OoTP even if he's not the demonstrative sort.
