I have been a fan of HP fanfiction since early 2005. That summer I discovered Bambu's fabulous "Guard... Check... Mate" here at TPP and realized that there were actually people out there who agreed with me that Dumbledore was NOT an inherently positive figure, that Dumbledore was manipulative and in many cases just as disrespectful of human life as Voldemort. I'd not thought of pairing Hermione and Severus, but suddenly it seemed so obvious!
And I've been stuck here every since!

Now that is moving on with style, but how could it be any other way on Severus' arm. 
Interesting take, although Ron isn't anywhere near this immature or stupid by the last book.
I noticed your response to another review, and as much I thought 'The Epilogue' was trite and insipid, it in no way intimated that Hermione was a stay at home mom for 19 years. What gave you that idea? Besides, JKR specifically stated in interviews after the publication of the last book that Hermione went into magical law enforcement, despite her sneering at it in the canon.

I liked this story, so I went and read "So She Dances" and "Wasted Time." I enjoyed those too. I don't know how I missed them when they were published, but I'm glad I checked out your TPP membership page and found them.

my reaction to this story: "take that, jkr and your stupid epilogue." i particularly liked the little snipe at ron about the hair-ball remedy. :)

I like this... although I do wonder what would have happened next - if Harry and Ginny would have found out the truth etc *sighs* but it was short and sweet. Thank you.

Typical Ron and typical Harry to side with Ron and totally disregard the fact that Hermione is the only person who ALWAYS stuck by him, no matter what. Ron is and always has been a fair weather friend in my opinion and putting he and Hermione together was the worst ending that JKR could have come up with.

Excellent AU story... loved it! And Snape was hardly snarky at all, but the point was made. Too bad that Ron is such an vindictive ass, he's his worst enemy by far. This deserves a five chocolate frog award. (5 out of 5)Cheers!

Oh man! That was a terrific one-shot. *whines* Won't it make a great multi-chaptered story? I just LOVE the "Severus coming in like the dark knight and caring for the discarded and hurt Hermione" stories.Livvy

Hehe... one-shots I can put out quickly, but multi-chaptered stories take too long for me. I know how the story ends, and by the time I get to writing it, I've lost interest. LOL. I have two epic stories in progress, but I will add this to the "consider" list.

I liked this, a lot.I know there is a lot of Ron bashing out there, but you have picked up on several of his character flaws as he is written in canon and made them into a perfectly believable (and readable) scenario.I'd love to see how you'd handle him telling the family about H/S, building on it so it seems they had a torrid relationship at school or something, and the others realising his tales of Hermione may bear no resemblance to real life so it backfires on him

How arrogant - thinking that they needed to save Hermione from herself! You have done well to bring out those negative character traits and assumptions of Ron and those supporting him that I feel make a HGRW pairing too horrible to contemplate. I also love the sly dig at that Epilogue! Cheers.

Ron doesn't have character flaws; he simply has character trait differences that make him truly incompatible with Hermione but much better suited with other girls. I like to point out JKR's flawed thinking at every opportunity. Thanks for the review!

Hehe... I hate the Epilogue. Well, no, actually, I don't hate the epilogue. I hate the implication that Hermione spent 19 years staying at home playing mini-Molly with clueless Ron. So wrong... *shakes head* Thank you for the review!
