A published Aussie author for a number of years now, I decided to dabble in the waters of HP fanfic for the first time. I hope my stories are acceptable.
Reviews for The Best and Worst of Times
I always feel sad for Severus when he remembers his happy days with Lily. He should have deserve a better youth than the one he had. Even if he is responsible for some of his unhappiness, it's still sad. You did a brilliant job with this particular memory.
What a clever and well crafted idea.
Very well written. Very touching.
It's tragic to think he had to confide in a memory. So sad, but beautiful too. Very well-written and moving. Thanks.
That was enchanting...thank you so much
this was very poignant and sad. and you've captured everything about him that just breaks my heart and is what drove me to fanfic to begin with. of course he couldn't make any real friends once he was a spy - he couldn't really trust anyone. very sad.
Very, very beautiful and touching. Thanks for sharing. /M
This is absolutely beautiful. Thanks.
That is wonderful! touching and sad. The reader can draw out a hopeful note by knowing, as Severus does not at this point, that Harry will survive and Voldemort will be killed. But still it is basically a beautiful, touching, sorrowful story. five stars!
I've thought from the very beginning that Severus Snape is a complex and fascinating character -- but ever since OotP, and especially after DH, my heart has positively ached on his behalf. Such a poor, mistreated, unappreciated soul! That's why this story tugs at my heartstrings...how terribly sad that the only outlet for his feelings is the memory of a deceased ex-friend -- and one who's sleeping to boot!! Actually, if Severus feels that the only time he can really share his feelings even with Lily is when she's asleep, I'm inclined to wonder if she was quite such a good friend as Severus remembers her being...but JKR *did* say that Severus had one person who genuinely loved him, and Lily is the only person who that could have been.
My eyes are tearing up, here. It's so sad that Severus has no one to talk to in real life. I think you portrayed his escape well.
