This is a rare gem. It’s sad yet beautiful and it’s all so believable. You made me feel with and for Albus, made me understand his motivations, his fears and his emotional struggle.

The whole mirror scene is so incredibly touching as well.

It’s interesting to think that the reign of Grindelwald did not end in a duel of epic proportions but in the betrayal of the person who loved him most.

this was really beautifully written, and so sad.  i liked that you wrote it as a lasting love on both sides, although that does make the betrayal more awful.  i'm thinking about the scene with aberforth now, and - just everything.  you did a really splendid job of coloring in these scenes.

I am so impresed by this!  I didn't think i was going to like it.  And then when I saw the dates jumping around i thought, 'OH no!'  But you did it so well, and we do know the story, after all!  It works!    the whole thing works, the dates bouncing around, the additions you've made, (clarifications we could say)  to canon.  and in the end, (clever you!) we see the betrayal of Grindlewald, not after a battle but Dumbledore is Judith to Grindlewald's Holofernes.   an unexpected and excellent touch!Thank you so much for sharing htis!

This was... amazing. Beautiful. Heart-wrenching. I literally have tears in my eyes right now. I feel like I know Dumbledore better now. Oh, and what he sees in the Mirror... just wow. Thank you for this.
