Snape fancier, wanton researcher of the arcane and sublime, and snark mistress.
Blanket disclaimer: the Potterverse was created by J.K. Rowling -- I just like to play with her toys.

What a nice tribute! Poor Neville, the only one who knows enough to pick the plants, but having to do justice to the man who had him quaking in his boots for most of his formative years. I think he did beautifully. And, I'm glad to see Neville. He is underused in fanfic.
Response from juniperus (Author of The Language of Flowers)
I adore Neville, he was always one of my favorite characters (admittedly, I wanted to invite him to my house and give the poor boy a hug and sweets. I was very Neville-like as a child, but not so very brave.) Giving Neville different imagined happy endings has been an off-again-on-again hobby of mine. :)
Well, by: '(...) and many bright colors of forget-me-not (like the ever-changing hues of her hair) to represent his all-too-short marriage to Nymphadora Tonks and their love for each other. For Tonks' sorrow I planted hyacinth and hops, injustice, to represent their loss to their orphaned son.' I was blubbering like a baby, and so I had to keep reading things over and over several times... By the time I got to Neville's memorial description for Severus, I had become and am *speechless* Truly brilliant, lovely work - thank you!

Beautiful doesn't seem adequate for this story. Neville's care and sensitivity, and Severus slow awakening is perfect. I would love to sit in that garden. Thank you.

That was so very lovely. I think my favorite line is: " Oh, but how to represent the puzzles and conundrums; the hot and cold running intensity of my former professor and headmaster, former Death Eater and spy for the light, fierce (if not pleasant) protector of every child ever under his care?"How well that sums him up. Thank you so very much!

It was my second story ever, and my first to a prompt. Thank you. :)
This little story is bittersweetly poignant and a very fitting tribute to SS. The symbolism of the trees are exceedingly moving and apt. Thank you very much.

I love this story and its sequel, I would also love to see the layout map but cannot find appendix B
Response from juniperus (Author of The Language of Flowers)
The map was a reference inserted to continue the book chapter motif - there isn't one, currently. But there will be.
Dear lord, woman. A good and fitting memorial indeed. Indeed. I quietly applaud this solemn and thoughtful piece. It is exquisite.

Hm... just commented on your Almost, and ended that with saying you "almost made me tear up". Well, scratch that "almost"... Here, the last line - so simple, but so emotional - honestly had me crying. I haven't stopped!I'm a flower freak as well as Harry Potter, and this was a wonderful story from both aspects. Thank you!(P.S.... Have to say, also, how touched I was by Neville's special mention of Colin. Oh, and I like how you mention the importance of plants in potions.)

Thank you very much! I think Neville is a very introspective, observant young man, and I have no doubt that his attention to deail in his favorite subject would result in this level of care and heartfelt use of symbolism.I make people cry - including myself! Re-reading this story will do me in, every time! I'm a sap! :)
This is beautiful, Juni. Very moving, and honestly sentimental without being saccharine.

Reading this today, on Remembrance Day.And, as always, it's blurry from tears. And it's perfect.

<3 Thank you so much, sweet!
Juni, this is lovely. You words brought tears to my eyes, and gratitude to my heart for the way Neville executed his task. Every remembrance he planted would have been beautiful, but I have to say that Severus' grove of trees carpeted with rosemary touched my heart the most.Well done!Beth

<3 Thank you so much! I wanted to honor my favorite two characters in the series with this: Neville and Severus.
I would love to see a picture of what Nevile manage to create in memory of those who fought the evil and lost their lives. You did a great job with it.

This is beautiful: I always thought that living plants and flowers are more suitable as memorials for people we loved than cold, hard stones.
Response from juniperus (Author of The Language of Flowers)
Thank you - and I agree wholeheartedly (but since they don't withstand the test of time, I rather like the stones, as well).

That was beautiful. You obviously put a lot of thought into which flowers matched each person. Severus' memorial description was very moving.
