Romance post-HBP/HBP compliant Hogwarts Castle 2,140 Words 1 Chapter Complete
Narcissa Malfoy Severus Snape

Post HBP - This is a Severus/Narcissa one-shot. Not the usual pairing I write, but it is another inspiration from a drawing Marquise has made.

Marquise is the most amazing artist.

Lovely work. I have always loved that little noticed pairing. And a very nice drawing!

Response from ancientgirl (Author of Bond of the Serpent)

It's not the usual pairing I write, but I thought it might be interesting.  I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Marquise did a marvelous job with that drawing.  Her talen knows no bounds.

After reading your lovely comments on my story, I had to come and read some of yours. I loved this story. I don't easily 'see' a relationship between Snape and Narcissa (mostly because in Canon she comes off as a superior Pure-blood who wouldn't sully herself with a Half-blood), but you made this very believable. A mother's love can overcome a lot of prejudices.I love stories where new spells and unusual magic are explored and you did a superior job. Now, I'm off to explore some of your other work.

Response from ancientgirl (Author of Bond of the Serpent)

I'm glad you enjoyed this.  I have to say, I really have never liked SS/NM, and I also can't see them as a couple, but mainly because I don't think they would have much in common.

We know very little of Canon Narcissa.  We've only seen bits of her, but when I read HBP I realized that there were two different sides to her, as there are to Lucius.

Whatever they may be, they love their son so thought exploring that here might be interesting.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and to leave me a review.

Very nicely done. More smut, please! ;-)

Response from ancientgirl (Author of Bond of the Serpent)

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it.  Unfortunately, I suck at writing smut, so I don't write much of it.  What I did here is pretty much as far as I'll go.  I just don't feel I can do it justice.

I love the idea of that spell.  Wonderfully written as always.

Response from ancientgirl (Author of Bond of the Serpent)

Thanks.  The idea was something Marquise and I discussed once while we were role playing.  I'm glad you liked this.

This was really excellent. The idea of Severus and Narcissa being an item seems too right :) Thanks for this. And thanks to Ledivinemarquis too :)

Response from ancientgirl (Author of Bond of the Serpent)

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I had not really considered it much until HBP, then Marquise drew this lovely work. I was convinced. Thank you for reading.

Excellent story, but should it be in Potions Under Duress, which I understand is a Severus/Hermione archive?

Response from ancientgirl (Author of Bond of the Serpent)

ACK! You're right. I didn't even realize I did that. Thanks for pointing it out. And thanks for reading.

Response from ancientgirl (Author of Bond of the Serpent)

I hit the submit before I finished. I was going to say, I'm so used to writing SS/HG I just automatically posted it here. Thanks again for letting me know.

This is doubly pleasurable. Your story and Marquise's drawing.
I liked your story very much.

Response from ancientgirl (Author of Bond of the Serpent)

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the story. I never think my smut is good enough. Marquise is an inspiration. I loved her drawing, it is beautiful.

OK so I read chapter 2 of HBP again and had to go looking for some SS/NM! I'm so glad you have written something.  As usual, you tell an interesting tale and leave the reader wanting more.  I must admit to being left curious as to how Draco would react to the relationship, but I'm happy with what you've written. Great work as always.

Response from Chartreuse (Reviewer)

Oh, I forgot to say how wonderful the drawing is!!! Lucky you!

Response from ancientgirl (Author of Bond of the Serpent)

Thank you.  I had been talking to Marquise one day and she mentioned wanting to make a drawing for Severus and Narcissa.  I took her idea and sort of ran with it.  She did a marvelous job with that drawing, but then, you can't expect any less from Marquise.  I sort of saw Draco accepting the relationship.  After all, Severus had protected them and cared for them both here.I appreciate you taking the time to read this.  I had written it so long ago and got a nice surprise to see that it had been read again by someone.

She really is a brilliant artist and your story is awesome as always.  I love reading your work.  Tamara

Response from ancientgirl (Author of Bond of the Serpent)

Yeah, she's amazing.  She was very inspiring to me.  I'm very happy you are enjoying my work!

Definitely not a normal pairing, but very nicely written, and an intriguing idea. After all, if it works that way for the dark mark, there isn't any reason it shouldn't work other ways, too, right? Well done.
