my catalyst into the world of hp fanfic was the ignominious death of severus snape by snakebite in dh. grrrrr. he deserved better, and i set off on a mission to find it! i appreciate and admire the vast and limitless creativity of all of the wonderful writers on this site and in this fandom.
accordingly, for me it's mostly about snape: ss/le, ss/hg, ss/rl are my favorite ships. i especially like happy endings for those who did not get them at the hands of jkr.

i can't tell you how much i appreciate your checking out the original poetry! very few readers make that leap, so i'm honored. this poem has always made me giggle a little bit, and even more so now, thanks to you. :D
LOL This is actually very cute. So true and yet so hard to do, huh?

i'm glad you liked it, even though it is a little flippant. ;)
The poem strikes me as a very whimsical take on what can be a painful topic. While I know this poem is probably geared more towards the figurative letting go rather than the literal letting go, I can't help but imagine this poem illustrated by Shel Silverstein. Maybe a picture of a terrified kid looking down from a tree or monkey bars. :) Of course, letting go physically can be just as terrifying as letting go emotionally.

i like whimsical. (i was a little afraid it was just bratty!) i also like the idea of the shel silverstein cartoony illustration. i was some place once where they used the image of the trapeze - in order to catch hold of the next trapeze, we have to let go of the one we are holding on to, but that is sometimes very difficult and scarey to do. thank you so much for your thoughtful review. : )

I like the idea that we somehow hold on to what we should let go--it's very true! I think that sometimes we're odd creatures who actually enjoy and revel in those bad feelings that we often suffer. I know quite a few people who could sulk at an Olympic standard... lol. The poem is a gentle reminder that we can be our own worst enemy and oftentimes, the only one who can ease our own anxieties. Thank you

thank you so much for taking the time to read and to leave such a thoughtful review. i really appreciate it! i agree, we human beings can be very odd creatures, indeed. i think we are in some ways hardwired to hold on, whether it's good for us or not, so that even if we want to let go of something, it can still sometimes be very difficult. but that could just be me. ; )

I can totally relate to this; your words are so true. Well done for writing. I am so glad to find a writer who is so keen on poetry/prose & writes it so well.I often think that so much more can be said in this way; it is often a case of 'less is more'.I am rapidly becoming a big, big fan of yours! :-)
