I’d thought you’d run in, out of breath, when the Muggle priest asked anyone who had objections to speak up. Such a quaint little custom. Now, I guess you’ll have to hold your peace.

Reviews for A Toast to the Newly-Weds
Actually this was kind of lovely and poignant. Makes me wonder if you're trying to say that Lily had second thoughts but Severus was so paranoid by then he couldn't see an opportunity when it presented itself. He only saw a risk. Well done!
I have my own take on Lily. You might like it. If you're interested, check out my profile on Fanfiction(dot)Net and see my story called For the Price of My Familiar.

A bit sad but very beautiful.

Excellent! plausible, and sad. JKR made what we saw of James to be such an arrogant brat, that it's hard to believe anyone could be interested in him. I know his friends said he was a great fellow, but the readers never saw anything but the spoiled brat Severus did. how sad. This is excellent and really seems to be in character for both of them.

Thank you. I think James was an ass, but I don't think he can have avoided being basically nice-- pureblood, aristocratic and a bit of a snob, maybe, but then we know he was friends with Remus.

Interesting. He's a dog when he licks Potter's shoes, right?

Well. Actually it's something Snape's saying and he doesn't know (at least at this point) that Sirius is an Animagus. And I'm not saying Sirius/Padfoot actually lcks James' shoes. But, yeah, Snape's definitely implying he does it in human form.

Such tangled webs we weave, sigh.
I bet you don't know what Lily wanted to say to Severus in that bookshop either :-)

I wonder if she really wrote that or not... will we ever know?

No...it's meant to be a one-shot.

This was really well written, and sweet at the end. Good job!

sad. the last two paragraphs just make this so poignant. i thought sirius was rather annoying, but that's not really your fault. ; ) nicely done.

thanks. oh, Sirius was supposed to be annoying. Snape's narrating the story, and, besides, those two don't exactly get along, do they?
