I think Hermione may have jumped the gun.  Severus said 'I do not speak' not 'I can not speak'.  I wonder if his lack of speech is self enforced rather than a medical problem.  Nice to see you again!

Very good start.  I totally agree with Harry's belief that Hermione is just perfect for the job.  She loves books and she can learn to do other things that are needed.

Sometimes a change is as good as a rest.  By now there are probably some who are thinking, how exciting can a story set in a book store be? Let us remember our players, speculate about Mr. X, numerous rooms with old, rare, arcane, unknown books in pristine condition and harboring secrets of what hitherto forgotten powers and skills, and that Hermione has never, ever met a book she didn't like, and the movie "You've Got Mail."  I'm ready, let's go. 

This is a very inviting beginning.  You have laid a rich background for this story and I look forward to seeing where you take it.  I really appreciate your take on Ron and the ending of his marriage.  It happens.  Also I am guessing that the watcher is the mysterious Mr. X, which I think is of course Severus Snape.  I look forward to finding out.  Thanks for posting, JoAnne

Wonderful story. I love your Severus and your Hermione.I really thought he could not speak, from Nagini's bite. But then again to use silence as penance and go through with it is so much in character for him.Your perfect ending made me cry. As much, as I would like to read more about what will happen now, I think you should not give in to the sequel claims. The way your story is now makes it unique, a jewel among the HG/SS fics a sequel might destroy it.Cheers MoepiAKA Michéle
