When I was younger I had a "problem" with open high rise parking garages.  I had to stay away from the outside walls.  I had an absolute conviction that if I got too close I would run and throw myself over the ledge.  The human mind is a very curious thing is it not?

I find myself smitten with the tan, healthy tall Snape. I think he is making some progress with Hermione. Excellent. She appears to be more broken than he is in many ways.

    Wizards couldn't find a magicless witch. How very crafty of Hermione to set up a safe house. If only she could relax there.

I AHVE READ THIS STORY SEVERAL TIMES AND IT STILL GETS TO ME. VERY NICELY DONE. I HOPE YOU CAN PUT UP A NEW CHAPTER SOON, IT IS CALLING TO ME TO READ IT ALREADY... I LOVE YOUR OTHER STORIES TOO.

Actually, being afraid to be alone, that nearly overwhelming fear of not being able to take care of one's self let alone anyone else, is something that can only be conquered by actually being alone and doing it.  Hermione and Severus both need this time apart to find out what they are really made of, time to grow some respect for themselves.  Love this story. 

What an excellent update, and I can't wait to see how the un-losing will look like.

So, is she going to stick to her "no magic" diet she put them on at the beginning in order to aparate home?  Knowing her, probably.  Will Severus go in search of her?  Likewise, knowing him, probably/eventually. 

You know, one of the things that really horrified me about DH was just how horrible Dumbledore was.  His treatment of Harry was horrible and his treatment of Snape completely inexcusable.  I swore if i heard the phrase "Dumbledore trusted Snape" one more time I was going to have an aneurysm.  Dumbledore didn't *trust* Snape, he had CONTROL of him, which is a different matter entirely.And I'm glad to see someone showing Snape feeling that.

One small nit-pick (I appear to have lost several chapters of this and have no bloody idea what's going on):it's "Legilimency".  With an E, not an A.  You know how TPPs personal flail-point is commas?  Mine is the mind magics.  Like when someone insists wizard A was "communicating with" wizard B "with Occlumency".  Or how entire battle plans are calmly discussed across battle fields or some such.  So I have a vested interest in their proper spelling. ;)Now, back to trying to figure out what's going on. :p

Can't she apparate?  Anyway, I love the way they are both thinking.

i love this chapter.  specifically switching back and forth between hermione trying to pull her thoughts together, and severus pretending not to worry about her being gone.  very nicely done.  as for home being at the end of a very long walk - she's a witch, she should be able to apparate at least part of the way, shouldn't she?  ; )
