To all my devoted readers and reviewers just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten about my little tale that has been neglected over the past few years. As stated in my previous update, real life got in the way, but I feel ready to write again.

I was just thinking of this story yesterday and here's an update - what a surprise, thank you!Brilliant chapter. Interesting way to twist canon but still maintain Severus undertaking an abhorrent task. I can't wait to see Hermione's reaction to what Dumbledore's demanded of him!

. Hermione is going to have quite a few more issues to work through. I will spoil a bit of Chapter 19 and say that tensions with Severus and Dumbledore come to a head. Thanks again for taking the time to read and review.

. Chapter 19 is in the hends of my wondeful beta, SLU, and Chaper 20 is a WIP. So updates should be fairly frequent.
I guess that Severus knows so much about Yaxley'sdeath because he planned it. Or there was a mistake and Umbridge was the intended target? Anyway, I hope the consequences won't be too much for him to bear with the insane man he called Master.

If I were ever being targeted like Hermione and Justin are, I'd want Severus to be planning my defense! Very clever of him to get Draco an apprenticeship with his old master, and in return for the favor have Lucius assassinate Yaxley. I can't wait to see what happens when Severus arrives in answer to Voldemort's summons. I hope Voldy isn't too crazy over Yaxley being killed. Will he set Severus the task of punishing (or eliminating) Covington?Was Hermione afraid to let Madam Pomfrey help her change into a hospital gown because she was afraid she would discover the curse that Umbridge placed on her?Boy Howdy, there was a lot happening in this chapter. Thank you so much Beth. Severus is without a doubt the guy you want as your wingman. You won't have to wait long as Chapter 18 is dedicated to Voldy's summons. And you are correct in Hermione's reaction to Madam Pomfrey.

It's great to see you back!!!I was glad to see that Hermione knows that Severus loves her and understands just what his oath of fealty means. He will protect her come what may.What a fascinating chapter! It seems there are dire and dark times times ahead for all. I think that Severus' meeting with Lucius nad the Polyjuice Potion he gave him means that the older wizard is going to do harm to Crabbe and Goyle before they can do harm to Hermione and Justin. Or maybe I mistunderstood. Either way, Lucius will need to protect Draco from whatever the Dark Lord has in store him.Can't wait to read the update!Beth

Thank you so much for the R&R Beth. Not to spoil chapter 17, but I will say there is a irony to Severus' puppet mastery, but exactly who is tugging at the strings.
I can do with dark and violence only if you promise there will be a happy ending with lots of babies. Also I'm glad to know he loves her but I fear what he is ready to do to protect her.

Chapter 16 is ten and a half pages in, work has been hectic so the only time when I have time to write is the weekend. I will say that Umbridge will play a significant role in the chapters upcoming as will Severus' darker nature. So please stay tuned, and as always thank you,

I just uploaded chapter 13 yesterday, and should be getting back chapter 14 within the next couple of days. Also Chapter 15 is in the works, so be on the lookout for new chapters. Yippie! You're back, and I have really missed you! And you are so right WB and RL can and do play hell with our plans.This chapter is golden! I love the way Hermione stood her ground with the Potions master. He is so taken with her, but he knows how much danger there is if the Dark Lord finds out. The lives of both of them would be forfeit. I can't wait to see where you take us on this most amazing "helluva ride." Lead on!
