After the war, Harry Potter is left with no one to save, no one to fight, and one extra wand. Draco Malfoy escapes punishment by leaving the country... or so he thinks. Seven years pass before they see each other again. Draco is no longer the master of his wand and a battle of talent and wills ensues. A story of a wand without a true master, and two men who fight to master each other... and themselves.

Due to the often controversial nature of my fics, I've decided I will no longer be posting here (this not NOT include my WIPs--Princes in Exile and Caged Bird Sings will continue to be updated here. This is regarding only my oneshots and future long fics). You can find all my stories at my Livejournal, under the name literaryspell. None of the fics are, as yet, friendslocked, so you can read at your leisure, and friend me, or not, as you like. :D Be sure to check out my master list, which is the first post on my LJ page. Thank you!
If anyone would prefer to send comments to me personally, or would just like to talk plot or make suggestions, please contact me at literaryspell@live.com. I'm happy to hear from anyone!

You two work so well together. The story is seamless. but Harry's and Draco's POV both have their own feel. :D
wow.
Lucius , poor dear, seems to have developed a permanent twitch. Sober up Harry, and get things sorted out.
Stupid, stupid Harry. hasn't he learned by now that listening to Hermione is ALWAYS the best thing to do?
this is gonna end so very very bad...
really liked the chapter, though. ^^
Sigh. Poor Harry.
Quick, someone go round and slap the "beautiful, chaste, pureblood witch"! :)
Good chapter. Kind of stupid of Draco to attempt to have sex with a good friend-- didn't he know that one should never tell a good friend that " I can't have sex with you because I am gay" always screws up the friendship? I thought he was brighter than that.
I can't wait his next meeting with Harry. It should be more than intreresting and full of sparks.
Oh, dear! You've done the impossible. I actually felt sorry for Pansy. I think that the only way for Draco to really confirm his feelings was to try being with a woman again, but it would have been much kinder for him to pick someone else. Not that his trademark is kindness, but I do believe that he actually feels bad for what he did to her. I think it was perfectly fine for him to admit that he might be gay to Pansy, but he really should have kept his mouth shut about Harry. That is some serious ammo she has in her arsenal now. It would be too funny if she tried to get back at him by telling Lucius ;) Keep up the great work!
I actually feel sorry for Pansy.
shit. she's gonna get him into big trouble, isn't she?
No wonder Pansy's a bit grumpy & feeling used. It's taken Draco a while to realise he's gay. Now he just has to work it out with Harry... and get his magic back. Easy!
ooh! interesting way to end this! So awesome! thanks for the update! "Cheers"
Probably not the best way to find out, but at least he's acknowledged, if not accepted, it now. :)
Well, I thought that Draco had won the duel a bit too easily. I never thought that he had bested Harry to the point where he couldn't have stayed in the fight, but I didn't expect that Herry threw things in Draco's favor quite as much as he did. Poor guy is so impulsive in the things he does sometimes.
I did not anticipate things would get steamy just yet. Not that I am complaining mind you, it just sort of caught me by surprise. I liked the way that particular scene played out for several reasons. First, what always works in my opinion concerning Draco and Harry, is that they have this rivalry that maifests with such intensity, that lines get blurred and eventually crossed. They teeter on that edge between hated and passion and could fall either way with equal ease. The second thing that I liked, and Harry was quick to realize this, is that Draco was in charge here. And while Harry is having to deal with the fact that he wants the very person he can hardly stand, he at least knows that he is attracted to men. I don't believe Draco has fully realized that as a possibility for himself, and so it is a double whammy being thrown at him. If Harry had been the one to make the first move, Draco could have denied his feelings and blamed it all on Harry. Now, whether he will admit it to Harry or not, Draco was running the show when things got physical. No getting around that.
Oh dear, there were so many good things about this chapter, I'm writing a novel! Anyhow, I was pleased that while Harry's first instinct was to get a drink, he was able to make the conscious decision to stop at one. And Luna, she is such an observant, intuitive little thing, isn't she? She makes me feel hopeful after the way things ended between the boys. I will be very interested to see what motivates Draco to search out Harry, and how long he will avoid him before he does. Or if Harry even has the patience to let Draco make the next move.
Still loving this a lot, and looking forward to the next installment!
Luna is awesome. I think Harry is getting a clue, but he's resisting it for all he's worth. Silly boy. :)
I love Luna's knowingness. And the boys teetering along that line between anger and passion is wonderful. Draco really needs to get his magic sorted out for it to be an equitable partnership.
hehe...loff the story....loff the guys....loff all of it. :) Great story. Poor Harry...poor Draco....poor Lucius.... :) Great!
Those poor confused boys.
OMG! I couldn't believe that Draco kissed him
back. I can't wait for next week to know what will be Draco's next move.
You know, I don't really ever care for Lucius as a character. But I find myself liking him here. If for no other reason than the fact that he is not interfering in Draco's personal life. If his son wants to have "lessons" with Harry Potter, and that makes him happy, then so be it. You must know that I thoroughly enjoyed the conversation at breakfast. See what I mean? Lucius really is a good sport!
So Draco won the duel, now what? Surely they still have much work to do. Regardless, it was a huge step in the right direction. They really shouldn't go out drinking to celebrate. They'll just have to find another way to have a celebratory party for two ;) Great chapter, as always.
You know, I think it is time for Harry to leave.
I do believe we have turned a corner here. Not that it will be smooth sailing by any means. I really liked the dinner scene the best I think because it really showcases the highlights of the situation. You have to feel bad for Draco. All of his life has been about pleasing his father, and regardless of his age, Lucius still expects him to act properly in all situations. But he has discovered the enjoyment of hanging out with someone his own age who is not a stuffy pureblood, even if they spend half of their time at odds. It was a huge gesture he made with the dinner he chose. But it put him in a difficult situation. I really wanted to see what he would choose had Lucius stayed. Maybe Lucius just needs a massage from Harry (as if he'd ever allow it or admit he enjoyed it). I hope that Draco has the nerve to stand up to Lucius without totally wrecking their relationship. I also hope he has some time to really consider how he feels towards Harry. Although I really enjoy the tension between them, so I guess if it takes awhile, I won't complain.
Nice to see Draco inadvertantly leave his dad a twitching, blushing wreck. Poor Lucius.
When is Draco going to figure things out?
I shall have to nail the pointy toes of sunny's witchy boots to the floor of the tearoom to stop her posting reviews before me. Have you no work to do, you slack wench?
Haha! Beat quaffie! She's working hard.“You don't want to know about the lessons, then? Now that things are progressing, I thought you might even want to sit in on one.” Poor Lucius. The mind boggles! :)
